20100016089Proposed Running Track Design for Fairer 200 M and 400 M Races - The present invention is directed to a system and method for conducting a more fair race around an oval track by having runners in each lane run equal arc angles. Such a configuration eliminates the disproportionate effect of centrifugal force on competitors running in different lanes. Embodiments of the invention provide for the addition of a straight section to a standard oval track extending from a curved section perpendicular to the existing straightaway section. Runners in each lane start at staggered locations on the straight section. The staggered starting locations are chosen such that each runner travels an equal distance from the starting location to a common finish line. A single straight section may be employed to conduct races covering the entire length and half the length of the oval track or two straight sections may be employed to allow finishes for both races at a common finish line.01-21-2010

20120085176ANALOG STRAIN GAUGE CONDITIONING SYSTEM FOR SPACE ENVIRONMENT - Provided herein are circuitry, a system and a method for conditioning an analog strain gauge signal in real time in the space environment. The circuitry and system provide means of modulating an excitation waveform input signal which in conjunction with a mechanical load applied to the analog strain gauge generate a modulated strain gauge output signal which is subsequently demodulated as the conditioned analog strain gauge signal. Using spread spectrum modulation on the sensor excitation waveform input signal allows operation without generating high levels of EMI. Subsequent demodulation of the sensor output signal in synchrony with amplitude modulating the sensor excitation waveform input signal provides a conditioned strain gauge signal that is a continuous representation of the load at the strain gauge in real time. Also provided is a method of monitoring a docking maneuver in a space environment.04-12-2012

20100017702Asynchronous Partial Page Updates Based On Dynamic Dependency Calculation - A system and method for asynchronously updating a web page or web pages displayed on a computer. The method receives from the computer an event message that is generated as a response to an action by a user to change an object displayed on the web page. The method creates a dynamic dependency graph having a root node, and child nodes that depend upon the root node, and adds the object that generated the event message, or a reference to the object, to the dependency graph as the root node. In addition, the child nodes may add other child nodes. The method receives context information for other objects displayed on the web page, when a dependency exists between the object and the other objects. The method adds the other objects, or references to the other objects, to the dependency graph as the child nodes. The method traverses the dependency graph and sends update requests to the web page or web pages displayed on the computer, wherein the update requests are sent to the object associated with the root node, and the other objects associated with the child nodes.01-21-2010

20100199352CONTROL AUTOMATION TOOL - A control automation tool (“CAT”) is configured for supporting discrete management of controls and their corresponding metrics. The control automation tool includes a software application connected with, stored on, and executed by one or more relational, closed-loop data repositories and computer systems. The use and maturation of a control within an organization depends on management of operational performance and expenses, which the CAT assists through lean project management, effective implementation of action plans and financial functions. Further, people resources, organizational hierarchy and access management functions are used to support mapping of controls arranged by organizational unit and support access permissions that are consistent with appropriate data management. The CAT also provides transparency and meaning to control and metric status and relevant data regarding controls and their associated metrics and is configured for ease of control and metric management via the CAT interface.08-05-2010
