20100202353WIRELESS ACCESS MODULE WITH INTEGRATED ANTENNA - An integrated wireless antenna/transceiver module that has particular application for use on a vehicle. The module includes a plurality of antenna radiating elements integrated on a circuit board where a separate radiating element is typically provided for each wireless application desirable for the particular vehicle. The module further includes a separate transceiver integrated on the circuit board where each transceiver is electrically coupled to a particular radiating element. Each of the transceivers is also electrically coupled to a local area network hub that receives signals from the transceiver, where the hub multiplexes the signals onto a digital interface to be sent to the particular application in the vehicle.08-12-2010

20090128581CUSTOM TRANSITION FRAMEWORK FOR APPLICATION STATE TRANSITIONS - An application may feature a number of application states among which a process shifts during execution of the application. A user or software developer may wish to define one or more transitions to be rendered between a first application state and a second application state, but the application development environment and operating system may provide only a limited number of general-purpose transitions. Instead, a pluggable architecture may be devised to permit a user or software developer to provide a custom transition, and to specify the rendering of the custom transition between application states. The pluggable architecture may therefore enable the user or software developer to define new transitions that are more relevant and complementary of the application states in transit.05-21-2009
20090132915VIEW SELECTION AND SWITCHING - Application logic and user interfaces are separated to allow more than one interface or view to be easily employed for given application logic. A particular interface can be utilized to display data and/or facilitate interaction simply by identifying the interface. Available interfaces are identified to users for selection thereof. The specific interfaces and manner of identification can be filtered or otherwise controlled or arranged. Upon selection of an interface, data can be rendered accordingly. A transition can also be applied between switched interfaces.05-21-2009

20100233943BURNISH HEAD DESIGN WITH MULTIPLE PADS ON SIDE RAIL - A disc burnishing head includes an array of burnishing pads and a first and second side rail projecting from a bottom surface of a slider body. The side rails each have an inside surface facing the burnishing pads and an outside surface facing outward. The outside surface of at least the first side rail is serrated. The serrations define a plurality of teeth and notches on the outside surface of the first side rail for cutting, cleaning, and conditioning defects from the surface of a disc.09-16-2010
20110195275MATERIAL DEPOSITION ON TRANSDUCING HEAD - An apparatus includes a slider body having a leading edge and an opposite trailing edge, as well as a top face and a bottom face each extending between the leading edge and the trailing edge. The slider body further includes a plurality of protrusions extending from the bottom face, a first recess defined on one of the protrusions, and a sacrificial layer deposited on the slider body in the recess. A bottom surface of the sacrificial layer extends at least as far from the bottom face as bottom surfaces of the plurality of protrusions. In another aspect, a first blocking feature is located at a first uptrack edge on an air bearing surface of a slider, with the first blocking feature being substantially continuous along the first uptrack edge and protruding outwardly from the air bearing surface to reduce particle interaction with the air bearing surface.08-11-2011

20110068767SUB-VOLT BANDGAP VOLTAGE REFERENCE WITH BUFFERED CTAT BIAS - Circuits, methods, and apparatus that provide voltage references having a temperature independent output voltage that is less then the bandgap of silicon. The temperature coefficient and absolute voltage can be independently adjusted. One example generates two voltages, the first of which is proportional-to-absolute temperature and the second of which is complementary-to-absolute temperature. These voltages are placed across a first resistor. The first resistor is further connected to a second resistor to form a resistor divider. The resistor divider provides a reduced voltage that is below that bandgap of silicon. The temperature coefficient of the reference voltage provided by the resistor divider can be set by adjusting the first resistor. The absolute voltage provided can be set by adjusting the second resistor.03-24-2011

20120016798BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION SYSTEM AND BIOMETRIC SENSOR CONFIGURED FOR SINGLE USER AUTHENTICATION - A biometric authentication system comprises a biometric sensor configured for single user authentication. The biometric sensor can be configured for single user authentication through an enrollment procedure in which one or more sensing parameters are adjusted based on unique characteristics of the user. Thereafter, the user can be authenticated by capturing biometric data using the adjusted sensing parameters and comparing the captured biometric data against stored template data.01-19-2012

20120109835USER FILTERING IN SOCIAL NETWORKING APPLICATIONS - An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for filtering third-party generated content in a social network. The method may involve receiving a request to view third-party generated content in a social network. The method may involve determining the group permissions that are set by the user for one or more groups. The user may define group membership. The group permissions define the access privileges to the third-party generated content. The method may also involve filtering the third-party generated content according to the group permissions such that the third-party generated content is filtered prior to its presentation to the requesting third-party user. As a result, certain third-party generated content may be hidden from certain third-party users. In certain embodiments, the user can set individual permissions governing access to the third-party generated content. In addition, filtering of third-party generated content may involve precedence of individual permissions over group permissions and precedence of the most restrictive group permissions when the requesting third-party is a member of numerous groups.05-03-2012
