20090192405INTRALUMINAL GUIDANCE SYSTEM USING BIOELECTRIC IMPEDANCE - A system using bioelectric impedance to guide a flexible elongate transluminal device through an occlusion in a vessel. The device can be a guidewire or a device for performing an atherectomy, discectomy, ablation or similar technique. The device includes a first electrode disposed on a distal portion of the device. A second electrode is disposed in electric contact with the patient separate from the first electrode. An electric current is supplied between the first and second electrodes and a voltage drop is measured between the first and second electrodes. The voltage drop is converted to bioelectric impedance. Based on the impedance measurement, a clinician can determine if the device is approaching the vessel wall, permitting the clinician to redirect the device away from the vessel wall.07-30-2009

20090141235Control of Myopia Using Contact Lenses - Devices and methods for controlling myopia are provided. The devices and methods relate to the inventors discovery of the relationship between near work, the forces applied to the eye by the eyelids and myopia. The devices include a contact lens comprising a region that disperses force applied to the eye by an eyelid. The devices also include a device designed by measuring first wavefront aberrations of an eye before pre-near work and measuring second measured wavefront aberrations of the eye post-near work. The methods include a method for controlling myopia including identifying optical changes associated with near work and correcting the optical changes with an optical device.06-04-2009

20090219045TESTBED FOR TESTING ELECTRONIC CIRCUITS AND COMPONENTS - There is disclosed an electronic testbed, an electronic testbed board, and a method for positioning receptacles for nails in the electronic testbed board. In an embodiment, the electronic testbed board includes a mounting through-hole for mounting a receptacle for a nail. The mounting through-hole is drilled to a suitably precise diameter for mounting the receptacle substantially perpendicular to the testbed board. One or more via-holes are located adjacent the mounting through-hole, and are adapted to allow an electrical connection between any conductive layers provided at the one or more via-holes. The receptacle may be mounted more accurately and the electronic test bed may be built more accurately by separating the functions of the via-holes and the mounting through-hole.09-03-2009

20100048065THERMOCOUPLE CONNECTOR - A thermocouple connector has a first member and a second member which couples to the first member. The first member carries two first terminals for electrically joining to the respective ends of a pair of thermocouple wires. The second member carries two corresponding second terminals for electrically joining to the respective ends of a pair of thermocouple extension wires. Each first terminal contacts a respective second terminal when the first and second members are coupled.02-25-2010

20100212505REGENERATIVE ADSORPTION GAS DRYER - A regenerative adsorption gas dryer has a wet gas inlet, first and second drying towers, and a dried gas outlet. The inlet, towers and outlet are arranged such that, in use, a flow of purge gas regenerates an off-stream one of the towers, while a stream of wet gas from the wet gas inlet enters an on-stream one of the towers to exit that tower as a stream of dried gas which then continues to the dried gas outlet. The roles of the off-stream and on-stream towers are reversible. The dryer further has a first check valve for controlling a stream of dried gas between the first drying tower and the dried gas outlet, and a second check valve for controlling a stream of dried gas between the second drying tower and the dried gas outlet.08-26-2010

20110049035FILTER ASSEMBLY - A filter assembly is provided for removing entrained material from a fluid stream. The assembly includes a manifold with a port through which the fluid is received into or removed from the assembly, and a housing into which is inserted a tubular filter element having walls of a filtration medium. The housing and the manifold have joining formations which allow them to be joined together and separated apart by relative rotation. The filter element has an end cap thereon which sealingly engages with the manifold. The end cap has an opening therein which accepts fluid received through the port and feeds the fluid into the interior of the filter element or which accepts fluid received from the interior of the filter element and feeds the fluid to the port. The filter element is insertable into the housing along the axial direction of the filter element.03-03-2011
