MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS TERMINAL AND METHOD FOR ALARM NOTIFICATION - A mobile communications terminal configured to handle bi-directional voice calls is provided that includes a microphone means, a sound buffer, a loudspeaker means, a positioning means and a processing means. The microphone means is configured to register sound data to be sent out and the loudspeaker means is configured to generate acoustic signals based on incoming sound data. The positioning means is configured to calculate position data reflecting an estimated geographic position of the terminal based on received satellite signals. The processing means is configured to handle surveillance commands and user-generated commands and, in response thereto, control the microphone means to register sound data and cause repeated storage of the sound data in the sound buffer and originate an alarm message, which is adapted to provide at least one predefined recipient with access to the stored sound data and position data generated by the terminal. | 02-17-2011

METHOD FOR INCREASING THE DURABILITY OF DIRECT OXIDATION FUEL CELLS - Methods for increasing the durability of direct oxidation fuel cells are disclosed. In one instance, the method for increasing durability of a vapor fed direct oxidation fuel cell includes reducing fluctuations in output power, provided by the vapor fed direct oxidation fuel cell, to a load. The reduction of the fluctuations in output power can include, in one instance, utilizing a mass flow controller or an electro-osmotive pump to supply fuel to the vapor fed direct oxidation fuel cell. | 05-20-2010

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INTERNAL HYDRATION OF A FUEL CELL SYSTEM - A fuel cell system having internal pushback of water, with a compact, thermally integrated enthalpy exchanger enabling effective hydration control in a small fuel cell system is provided. The enthalpy exchanger provides for the moisture in the fuel cell effluent to by used to humidify the incoming air stream to allow the fuel cell to be operated at higher temperatures while avoiding dry out. The enthalpy exchanger includes a moisture permeable membrane which collects moisture from the exhaust flow and makes this moisture available to an incoming air stream, thus humidifying the incoming air stream. In addition, the waste heat from the fuel cell reactions is transferred to the incoming air stream. The exhaust stream from the anode can also be used to provide additional moisture and heat to the enthalpy exchanger to be added to the incoming air stream. A water separator is also provided in one embodiment. | 09-11-2008

Dryer extension and method of drying an object - A dryer extension. The extension connects with the dryer for dispensing heated air beyond an exhaust outlet of the dryer. The extension comprises a tube section having a first end, a second end and a tube body disposed between the first end and the second end. The tube body has an inner wall and outer wall defining a hollow channel between the first end and the second end. The tube body further has a plurality of apertures defined through the outer wall and the inner wall and in communication with the hollow channel. The extension further comprises an adapter that connects with the tube section. The adapter has a proximal end, a distal end and an adapter body disposed between the proximal end and the distal end. The proximal end removably connects with the dryer and the distal end connects with the first end of the tube section such that forced air dispelled by the hair dryer flows out the exhaust outlet, within the hollow channel of the tube section and out of the plurality of apertures. | 06-11-2009

ENGINE BRAKE FOR VEHICLE - An engine brake system and a method for controlling the exhaust gas pressure of an exhaust system for a vehicle provided with an engine are provided. The system includes a main exhaust gas conduit connected to the turbine of a turbo arrangement and an Exhaust Pressure Governor (EPG) which is used to create a backpressure in the exhaust system so as to function as an engine brake. The turbo arrangement includes a Variable Geometry Turbine (VGT). The Exhaust Pressure Governor is located in a bypass conduit which is connected to the main exhaust conduit upstream the connection to the turbine of the turbo arrangement and the main exhaust conduit includes a valve arrangement downstream the bypass conduit connection for closing the main exhaust conduit. According to the method for controlling the system, the flow passage through the main conduit is open and the flow through the bypass conduit is closed in response to an output control indicating that no engine braking is desired. In case there is an output control indicating that engine braking is desired, the flow passage through the main conduit is closed and the flow through the bypass conduit is open whereby the EPG is controlled to provide a desired backpressure according to the control signals from the control system. | 04-29-2010
