20120033869PLAUSIBLE REFERENCE CURVES FOR DYNAMIC, CONTRAST-ENHANCED IMAGING STUDIES - A comprehensive strategy is used to determine valid reference time-concentration curves (TCCs) from image data. The image data corresponds to a series of image scans acquired over time for an area of interest of a patient to which a contrast agent was previously administered. The image scans are initially registered to a common coordinate system. Then, observed potential reference TCCs in the image scans are compared to modeled reference TCCs to determine if the potential reference TCCs are plausible reference TCCs. Thereafter, any plausible reference TCCs are evaluated to determine if they contain residual, isolated motion artifacts. If a plausible reference TCC does not include any motion artifacts, the plausible reference TCC is considered a valid reference TCC. If a plausible reference TCC is determined to include motion artifacts, the plausible reference TCC is modified to a valid reference TCC by removing the motion artifacts, or otherwise the plausible reference TCC is rejected. The valid reference TCCs can be used to improve the effectiveness of dynamic, contrast-enhanced imaging studies.02-09-2012

20110145086METHODS, APPARATUS, AND SYSTEMS FOR SUPPORTING PURCHASES OF GOODS AND SERVICES VIA PREPAID TELECOMMUNICATION ACCOUNTS - Apparatus and method for detecting in real-time when a User of a prepaid telecommunications account tries to complete a data, voice or financial transaction to purchase a product or service but cannot, due to insufficient funds in the Prepaid Account. The system then determines whether the Account is eligible to receive a Facilitation according to predetermined criteria and, if so, either (1) automatically authorizes the transaction to be completed based on a Facilitation amount, subsequently recorded by the system to satisfy the insufficiency, or (2) instantly communicates to the User an offer to do so, and if the User accepts the offer, authorizes the transaction and records the Facilitation amount. The transaction can then be completed without significant interruption. A mechanism is provided such that on the next Topping-Up event(s) of the User's Account, the Facilitation amount is debited from the User's Account for return to the Facilitator.06-16-2011

20110156544GENERATOR FOR A BICYCLE WHEEL - A generator for a bicycle wheel comprises a core and a plurality of rotating yokes. The core has a first outer leg, a middle leg and a second outer leg, wherein an electric coil surrounds the middle leg. The core comprises at least one permanent magnet which is configured such that the first outer leg and the second outer leg of the core are magnetized in opposing directions. The yokes have a length which corresponds to the distance between the middle leg and one of the outer legs of the core. The yokes are arranged such that they pass subsequently along the first outer leg, the middle leg and the second outer leg of the core when the yokes are rotating, so that an alternating electric voltage is induced in the coil while a respective one of the yokes passes along the core.06-30-2011

20110048701WELL SEALS - A method for determining integrity of annular seals in wellbores. In an embodiment, two wellbores are selected that extend through a common geological formation which is capable of sealing against casing sections located in the wellbores. A pressure test is typically carried out in a first of the wellbores to check that the formation provides an effective seal, and a logging tool is typically run to obtain well log data from which can be derived a characteristic response that is associated with the formation providing an effective annular seal around the casing section in the first wellbore. A logging tool may then be run in the second of the wellbores to obtain a second set of well log data, which are comparable with the characteristic response to determine whether the formation provides an effective annular seal in the second wellbore.03-03-2011
