20110051859SYMBOL ESTIMATION METHODS AND APPARATUSES - A novel symbol estimation method produces intersymbol interference free symbols by detecting interfering symbols in an interfering channel. A channel estimate is refined for additional improvements. The method can lends itself as a serial or parallel algorithm implementation. The symbol estimation method includes using an initial estimate of received symbols and calculating a refined estimate of the received symbols using a channel estimate. The refined estimate is calculated by performing parameterization of intersymbol interference by symbols other than the symbol being refined and selecting a refined value for the symbol being refined by evaluating an optimization function. Symbol estimates are refined in multiple iterations, until a predetermined iteration termination criterion is met. Parameterization of ISI contribution of other symbols results in reduced computation by reducing total number of unknown variables in the refinement operation.03-03-2011
20110051864MULTI-STAGE INTERFERENCE SUPPRESSION - A multi-stage interference suppression receiver includes a short equalizer section configured to operate on a first portion of a received signal received over a channel to produce a first equalized signal and a first estimate of the channel, a channel estimator section configured to operate on the first equalized signal to produce a second equalized signal, the channel estimator section comprising a linear estimator and a non-linear estimator, a long equalizer section configured to operate on a second portion of the received signal to produce a first estimate of symbols in the received signal and a second estimate of the channel and an interference canceller section configured to operate on the first estimate of symbols in the received signal to generate a second estimate of symbols in the received signal based on, at least in part, the second estimate of the channel.03-03-2011

20100065764Remote control system to set hot cold water ratio of an electronic faucet - The present invention relates controlling ratio of mixing hot and cold water of an electronic faucet by setting a mixing valve with an electronics actuator using two infrared sensors without touching to the faucet or its accessories. The system consists of two infrared sensors (IR), red and blue light emitting diodes, a mixing valve, an actuator, a temperature sensor and its display. When a user enters effective working range of the left or the right IR sensors the actuator actuate the mixing valve to change hot/cold water mixing ratio of the faucet. The IR sensors located on the left side of the faucet increase hot water ratio and IR sensor located on the right side of the faucet increase cold water ratio of the faucet when a user enters the effective working range of the IR sensors.03-18-2010

20110111718HYSTERESIS NONLINEAR STATE MACHINE WITH OVERLAPPING THRESHOLDS FOR AUTOMATIC FREQUENCY CONTROL - A method and apparatus for non-linear frequency control tracking of a control loop of a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) in a wireless mobile device receiver is provided. A channel metric based on one or more channel quality indicators associated with a received radio frequency channel is determined and a state metric associated with the current operating state of the control loop are determined. One or more state metric threshold value associated with the determined channel metric, providing hysteresis between operating states, are determined wherein each state metric threshold value is associated with a transition to a possible operating state of the control loop. The control loop transitions from the current operating state to the operating state associated with an exceeded state metric threshold value. Coefficients are provided to an adaptive loop filter of the control loop, wherein the coefficients coefficient are associated with the transitioned operating state.05-12-2011
