20110218966SYSTEMS, METHODS, AND COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIA FOR BACKUP AND RESTORATION OF COMPUTER INFORMATION - A computer creates a full backup of a target volume by copying sectors of the target volume. Incremental backups are created by copying modified sectors that have changed since a preceding backup. Public accesses to a restore volume are prevented by modifying a volume boot record (VBR) of the restore volume to prevent file systems from recognizing the restore volume or by filtering public accesses while allowing private block accesses to the restore volume. Sector data are copied from the backup files to the restore volume while the public accesses are being prevented. The restore can begin, using previously created backup files, while the backup is still in process creating new incremental backups for the target volume. The restore volume is finalized after restoring the full or any number of incremental backups by restoring the VBR to indicate the restore volume is valid or stopping the filtering of public accesses.09-08-2011

20080289696CHECK VALVE FOR FLUID INJECTOR - A backflow-prevention system that substantially prevents contaminant backflow at a treatment site. The system includes a fluid ejector tube for insertion into the patient's mouth and for removal of fluids when a threshold vacuum pressure is applied. A backflow prevention device receives fluid from the fluid ejector tube and includes an internally positioned valve. The valve prevents contaminant backflow upon release of the vacuum pressure or a reduction in the vacuum pressure. Upon application of vacuum pressure, the valve moves into an open position to allow fluid flow away from the treatment site. The system can also include a disposable cover member that extends over at least portions of the fluid ejector tip, the backflow prevention device, and other features such as an ON/OFF valve assembly of a suction system. Similar principles of backflow prevention can be applied to fluid dispensers (e.g., liquid soap dispensers) wherein prevention of backflow of the fluid into the fluid storage container is necessary, in order for the dispenser to function properly.11-27-2008

20110184793DYNAMIC E-MAIL - A system may present dynamic content to an e-mail recipient in the form of an image implementing frame-sequence animation. Each frame may present an offer to the recipient. Upon selection of an offer, the system may determine which offer the recipient selected by determining which frame was displayed when the recipient responded. The e-mail may include an image URI specifying a frame-sequence animation image. The image URI may include an identifier, which may allow the system to determine when the recipient opened the e-mail message, and a link URI, which may also include the identifier. When the recipient indicates a response to an offer, the system may associate the link URI with the image URI and may determine to which offer the recipient was responding.07-28-2011

20090020791PROCESS METHOD TO FABRICATE CMOS CIRCUITS WITH DUAL STRESS CONTACT ETCH-STOP LINER LAYERS - Exemplary embodiments provide IC CMOS devices having dual stress layers and methods for their manufacture using a buffer layer stack between the two types of the stress layers. The buffer layer stack can include multiple buffer layers formed between a first type stress layer (e.g., a tensile stress layer) and a second type stress layer (e.g., a compressive stress layer) during the CMOS fabrication. Specifically, the buffer layer stack can be formed after the etching process of the first type stress layer but prior to the etching process of the second type stress layer, and thus to protect the etched first type stress layer during the subsequent etching process of the overlaid second type stress layer. In addition, a portion of the buffer layer stack can be formed between, for example, the compressive stress layer and the underlying PMOS device to enhance their adhesion.01-22-2009
20090098665METHODOLOGY OF IMPLEMENTING ULTRA HIGH TEMPERATURE (UHT) ANNEAL IN FABRICATING DEVICES THAT CONTAIN SIGE - Exemplary embodiments provide methods for implementing an ultra-high temperature (UHT) anneal on silicon germanium (SiGe) semiconductor materials by co-implanting carbon into the SiGe material prior to the UHT anneal. Specifically, the carbon implantation can be employed to increase the melting point of the SiGe material such that an ultra high temperature can be used for the subsequent anneal process. Wafer warpage can then be reduced during the UHT anneal process and potential lithographic mis-alignment for subsequent processes can be reduced. Exemplary embodiments further provide an inline control method, wherein the wafer warpage can be measured to determine the litho-mis-alignment and thus to control the fabrication process. In various embodiments, the disclosed methods can be employed for the fabrication of source/drain extension regions and/or source/drain regions of transistor devices, and/or for the fabrication of base regions of bipolar transistors.04-16-2009
