20120032586MERCURY-VAPOR DISCHARGE LAMP FOR HOMOGENEOUS, PLANAR IRRADIATION - Known mercury-vapor discharge lamps for planar irradiation are provided with a lamp bulb made of quartz glass, which encloses a closed discharge space having a non-linear gas-discharge channel. In order to provide a structurally simple lamp, which also guarantees a highest possible homogeneity of the UV irradiation, even for a small distance to the surface to be treated, the lamp bulb is formed as a quartz-glass chamber defined by straight walls and having bottom, top, and side walls and is divided into sub-chambers by several separating webs made of quartz glass and projecting from the bottom wall to the top wall. These sub-chambers include a front-most sub-chamber and a rear-most sub-chamber and form in series interconnection the non-linear gas-discharge channel. The separating webs extend alternately from one side wall up to close to the opposite side wall, while leaving open a gap connecting adjacent sub-chambers in a fluid-communicating manner. One electrode is allocated to the front-most sub-chamber and the other electrode is allocated to the rear-most sub-chamber.02-09-2012

20100289166DROP PELLETIZING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR THE OPERATION THEREOF - A drop pelletizing device and method for producing pellets from a low-viscosity plastic melt are provided. The drop pelletizing device can include a die plate with holes, in which the plastic melt can be subjected to a harmonic pressure oscillation such that the plastic melt emerging from the holes forms individual pellet droplets, a pressure vessel, in which prevails an overpressure above the ambient pressure, a discharge device adapted to discharge the individual pellet droplets from the pressure vessel and to reduce the overpressure, a separator adapted to separate the individual pellet droplets from the coolant; and at least one circulating device adapted to agitate the coolant to separated and unclump the individual pellet droplets in the coolant and for producing turbulence within the coolant.11-18-2010

20120002450BIDIRECTIONAL INVERTER FOR CONVERSION BETWEEN A DIRECT CURRENT SOURCE AND AN ALTERNATING CURRENT GRID - A bidirectional inverter is disclosed, the inverter including DC terminals and being connectable to a grid via grid AC terminals. The inverter includes a first subinverter and a second subinverter, both subinverters being connected in parallel to the DC terminals, and being connected in parallel to the grid AC terminals by subinverter AC terminals. Each subinverter includes a full bridge and a switchable freewheel path, both being configured to drive current between the grid AC terminals in a driving direction, and configured to block a current between the grid AC terminals in a blocking direction opposite the driving direction. The driving direction of the first subinverter is the blocking direction of the second subinverter.01-05-2012

20100221333Pellets Comprising a Core With a Water-Soluble Carrier - A pellet with a length/width ratio of less than about 1.4 is provided which comprises a core which comprises a water-soluble carrier and an active ingredient distributed homogeneously therein. The pellet disintegrates, with visually ascertainable loss of the pellet structure, into smaller fragments when the following test is carried out: (a) 200 to 800 mg of pellets are placed into a Petri dish with 0.5 ml of demineralized water. (b) The Petri dish is immediately afterwards fixed to the measuring cylinder holder of a stamping volumeter. (c) After 10 seconds, 30 stamping movements are carried out. (d) Immediately afterwards, the pellets are photographed.09-02-2010
20110274819Oral preparation with controlled release - A pharmaceutical pellet is disclosed, comprising a spherical core containing active ingredient with a smooth surface and a coating on the core which controls the release of the active ingredient in a pH-independent manner. With such a pellet the release of the active ingredient can follow a profile with a lag phase of 60 minutes to 840 minutes, a proportion of 5 wt. % or less of the active ingredient being released during the lag phase. The active ingredient can furthermore be released from the pellet with a profile such that after the lag phase the release of the active ingredient amounts to between 3 and 25 wt. % per hour.11-10-2011
