20110284461Controlled Aeration of Integrated Fixed-Film Activated Sludge Bioreactor Systems for the Treatment of Wastewater - A method of biologically treating wastewater with an integrated fixed film activated sludge process. The integrated fixed film activated sludge process includes biomass suspended in mixed liquor and biomass disposed on carriers. Under certain conditions the dissolved oxygen concentration in a reactor that includes the mixed liquor, biomass suspended in the mixed liquor, and the biomass on the carriers, biological treatment is performed primarily by the biomass in the mixed liquor. This is achieved by controlling or maintaining the dissolved oxygen concentration in the reactor at a relatively low concentration. When the biomass suspended in the mixed liquor is unable to adequately biologically treat the mixed liquor, the dissolved oxygen concentration in the reactor is controlled or maintained at a relatively high concentration. This enables biomass on the carriers to contribute more to the biological treatment of the mixed liquor than when the dissolved oxygen concentration was maintained relatively low.11-24-2011

20090256644RADIO FREQUENCY COMMUNICATION DEVICES AND METHODS - One embodiment relates to a radio frequency (RF) communication device. The RF communication device includes an antenna interface coupled to an antenna that exhibits a time-varying impedance. The RF communication device also includes a test interface coupled to RF test equipment that exhibits a test impedance. A tuning circuit in the RF communications device selectively provides a matched impedance to either the time-varying impedance or the test impedance based on feedback derived from the test interface. Other methods and systems are also disclosed.10-15-2009
20090298448STRATEGY FOR USING THE ENVELOPE INFORMATION WITHIN A CLOSED LOOP POWER CONTROL SYSTEM - A power control system includes a reference path filter used to suppress high frequencies in an input signal and generate a filtered envelope signal, a reference path amplifier to scale the filtered input signal based on a gain signal and generate a reference signal, a signal path amplifier to amplify an RF modulated signal and generate a signal path output signal scaled by a gain of an actuator signal, and a power detector to detect a power associated with the signal path output signal. The system includes an ADC to receive, pre-filter and convert the detected envelope signal into a measurement signal, and a comparator block to receive the reference signal and the measurement signal, and generate an error signal based on the difference, and a controller to generate the actuator signal for controlling the gain of the signal path amplifier based on the error signal.12-03-2009
