20080289494DECOMPOSITION OF NATURAL GAS OR METHANE USING COLD ARC DISCHARGE - The invention provides methods and apparatus for a cold arc discharge used to decompose natural gas or methane into its gaseous constituents and carbon in the form of solid particles. The gaseous constituents obtained are mainly hydrogen and acetylene and they are produced in admixture with unreacted natural gas or methane.11-27-2008
20090038933Decomposition of Natural Gas or Methane Using Cold Arc Discharge - A cold arc discharge is used to decompose natural gas or methane into its gaseous constituents and carbon in the form of solid particles. The gaseous constituents obtained are mainly hydrogen and acetylene and they are produced in admixture with unreacted natural gas or methane. The cold arc discharge is generated by a pulsating high voltage discharge imparted through a capacitor to a high voltage electrode or a plurality of high voltage electrodes or through a high voltage electrode to a plurality of capacitor—connected electrodes placed in a reaction zone. The apparatus for performing this process may have a tubular reactor with a cylindrical ground electrode in the middle and a cylindrical outer wall through which the high voltage electrode or electrodes extend into the reaction zone. The apparatus may also have a cylindrical shaft in the middle made of dielectric material in which a plurality of electrodes are embedded, this shaft being surrounded by a high voltage tubular electrode. Natural gas or methane is passed through the reaction zone where it is subjected to the cold arc discharge or discharges and the resulting products flow out of the reactor and solid carbon particles are separated from the remaining gases that are then analysed.02-12-2009

20080230229Method of Running a Tubing Hanger and Internal Tree Cap Simultaneously - During the completion of a subsea horizontal tree, a tubing hanger and internal tree cap are run together with the same running tool and running string. The running tool has a linking assembly that connects the tree cap to the tubing hanger during running, retrieval, or workover, so that the tree cap supports the weight of the tubing hanger and string of tubing. The linking assembly can be retrieved with the running tool or retrieved on wireline through the running string.09-25-2008
20090071656METHOD OF RUNNING A TUBING HANGER AND INTERNAL TREE CAP SIMULTANEOUSLY - An assembly for the completion of a subsea horizontal tree that includes a tubing hanger, an internal tree cap, and a running tool.03-19-2009
20100307764Bimetallic Diaphragm for Trapped Fluid Expansion - A subsea well tubular member has an axial passage with upper and lower retrievable plugs releasably mounted in the passage, the plugs having ends facing each other. A cavity is formed on one of the ends of one of the plugs. A movable barrier is mounted sealingly over the cavity, the barrier being movable repeatedly between inner and outer positions in response to temperature changes. The inner position reduces a volume of the cavity and increases a volume of a trapped fluid space between the ends of the plugs. The outer position increases the volume of the cavity and decreases the volume of the trapped fluid space. The barrier has two metallic layers with different coefficients of expansion.12-09-2010
20110120697METAL-TO-METAL SEAL WITH WIPER ELEMENT AND WELLHEAD SYSTEM INCORPORATING SAME - A wellhead or Christmas tree seal assembly that forms a metal-to-metal seal between inner and outer wellhead or Christmas tree members. U-shaped metal seals having legs that face in opposite directions, are bonded to a wiping element. During installation of the seal assembly, the ends of the seal legs seal against the wellhead members and the wiping element compensates for defects on the surfaces of the wellhead members. The wiping element can be of an elastomer, metallic, or intercalated graphite material.05-26-2011
