20100139552Axial Gradient Transport Growth Process and Apparatus Utilizing Resistive Heating - A crucible has a first resistance heater is disposed in spaced relation above the top of the crucible and a second resistance heater with a first resistive section disposed in spaced relation beneath the bottom of the crucible and with a second resistive section disposed in spaced relation around the outside of the side of the crucible. The crucible is charged with a seed crystal at the top of an interior of the crucible and a source material in the interior of the crucible in spaced relation between the seed crystal and the bottom of the crucible. Electrical power of a sufficient extent is applied to the first and second resistance heaters to create in the interior of the crucible a temperature gradient of sufficient temperature to cause the source material to sublimate and condense on the seed crystal thereby forming a growing crystal.06-10-2010

20120086971SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSION, STORAGE, RETRIEVAL AND REMOTE SIGNING OF AUTHENTICATED ELECTRONIC ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS - Exemplary embodiments include methods of handling stored electronic original information objects that have been created by electronically signing information objects by respective authorized users and transfer agents, submitting signed information objects to a trusted repository system, validating the submitted signed information objects by at least testing the integrity of the contents of each signed information object and the validity of the signature of the respective transfer agent, and applying to each validated information object a date-time stamp and a digital signature and authentication certificate of the trusted repository system that is an electronic vault. One method includes the remote signing of electronic documents without the trusted repository ever releasing the electronic original documents and other information objects that are controlled and protected by the trusted repository system. Other methods include handling information objects that are transferable records according to specified business and government rules.04-12-2012

20090083584Method for maintaining track data integrity in magnetic disk storage devices - Techniques for detection of impending data errors in a mass storage system, such as a track squeeze problem in an electromagnetic disk drive, and then repairing the impending problem, such as by rewriting the affected tracks. In many cases the problem is detected and repair is effected when the original data can still be read. In other cases, when the data is no longer readable on the disk in question, but when the disk is part of a Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) system, or other system in which higher layer fault tolerance mechanisms are implemented, the missing data can be recovered via these mechanisms. The recovered data is then used to repair the track squeeze problem. The invention can be implemented as firmware in a storage system, as a component of a general purpose operating system, or inside individual disk drives, or it can use a combination of these implementations.03-26-2009

20100093896Protein/Cationic Polymer Compositions Having Reduced Viscosity - The present invention discloses an adhesive composition comprising a protein component, an azetidinium functionalized polymer component and a viscosity modifying component. The preferred protein is a soy protein and the viscosity modifying component is preferably a sulfite reducing agent, a thiol, or combinations thereof. The invention provides for a high solids, lower viscosity adhesive formulation. The present invention also relates to a composite and a method of making a composite comprising a substrate and the adhesive composition of the present invention.04-15-2010
20110190423Adhesive Compositions - The invention is directed to composition, preparation and use of composite materials based on an adhesive with solids levels above 45% by weight that contain stable polyamidoamine-epihalohydrin resins (PAE resins) of solids greater than 40% where the relative high solids of the PAE enables the high solids content of the adhesive. Furthermore, at least 45% of the solids portion of the adhesive is made up of a combination of the solids of the PAE resin and the solids of the protein source. The invention is also directed an adhesive comprised of the PAE in combination with a soy protein source. The invention is also directed toward use of the adhesive in composite materials and in particular wood containing composite materials, and more specifically wood fiber or particle based composites.08-04-2011

20080215917Synchronizing Cross Checked Processors During Initialization by Miscompare - A few inexpensive hardware facilities are incorporated in a tightly synchronized cross checked design. These facilities allow initialization software to quickly bring the two processors to the same state by rapid, repeated resets and execution of the initialization software. The resets are done in a way as to be transparent to the rest of the system and to the end user.09-04-2008

20100058851VEHICLE TESTING ASSEMBLY - A compact, modular and versatile vehicle testing assembly for testing at least the brakes of an assembled vehicle comprises a pair of rollers adapted to support a tire of a tire and wheel assembly of a vehicle positioned on the testing assembly, with the pair of rollers being moveable relative to one another to alter the spacing there between. A drive system is connected to one of the rollers to operate as a drive roller for selectively imparting rotational motion to a tire of a vehicle tire and wheel assembly, with the other roller comprising a freewheeling roller to which rotational motion is imparted by a vehicle tire. A brake member is engageable with the freewheeling roller to selectively inhibit rotation of the freewheeling roller.03-11-2010
