20090318047Monofilaments Modified with Perfluoropolyethers - A method is described which comprises a method for the production of a monofilament from a mixture of a melt-spinnable, filament-forming polymer and a modifying additional polymer, characterised in that a mixture of one or more melt-spinnable, filament-forming polymers and 0.001 to 10% by weight of a perfluorinated polyether is spun to form monofilaments.12-24-2009
20100151755Method for the production of highly oriented polyolefin ribbons, textiles and technical flexible sheet materials produced therefrom, and the use thereof in protective bodies for the protection from ballistic projectiles and the like - The invention relates to a method for the production of high-strength ribbons having a high modulus of elasticity made of a highly molecular polyolefin, wherein the polyolefins, particularly polypropylene and polyethylene, are extruded through a slotted nozzle, are then subjected to a temperature of 85° to 135° C. for a duration of at least one second, the films are then cut into individual ribbons, if necessary, and stretched at temperatures between 90° and 165° C. in one or more steps, are rolled up or further processed directly into textiles or technical flexible sheet materials. The ribbons can be laminated into multi-layer flexible sheet materials by using adhesives or adhesion promoters, the flexible sheet materials being particularly suitable as protection from ballistic projectiles. In this case particularly in the form of plate-shaped or flexible compound bodies.06-17-2010

20110123081CORRECTING AND RECONSTRUCTING X-RAY IMAGES USING PATIENT MOTION VECTORS EXTRACTED FROM MARKER POSITIONS IN X-RAY IMAGES - A method and a system for correcting and reconstruing a plurality of projection images based on detected patient motion. The method includes obtaining a plurality of projection images generated by a scanner. Each of the plurality of projection images includes at least three markers. Each of the at least three markers has a measured three-dimensional position and measured positions on a detector panel of the scanner in a first dimension and a second dimension. The method further includes determining a position error vector for each of the plurality of projection images based on the at least three markers in each of the plurality of projection images, the position error vector defining patient motion in the projection image. The method finally includes combining each position error vector for each of the plurality of projection images with geometric parameters associated with the scanner to derive a projection matrix for each of the plurality of projection images, and generating reconstructed images corrected for patient motion from the plurality of projection images and the projection matrix for each of the plurality of projection images.05-26-2011

20080204907Monolithic optical mount - A monolithic optical element mount has an inner member suspended within an outer member and movable with respect to the outer member along an axis. A first set of fold flexures extends from the inner member to the outer member, so that each fold flexure in the first set has a fold that lies on a tangent to a first circle lying in a first plane that is orthogonal to the axis. A second set of fold flexures extends from the inner member to the outer member, so that each fold flexure in the second set has a fold that lies on a tangent to a second circle lying in a second plane that is parallel to the first plane. With respect to a view taken along the axis, the folds for the first set do not align with the folds for the second set.08-28-2008
20080204908Optical mount pivotable about a single point - An optical element mount has an outer member and an inner member. The inner member has a central axis and is suspended within the outer member by a plurality of fold flexures. Each fold flexure has a fold that lies along a line that intersects the central axis at one common point, where the common point serves as a pivot point for rotational movement of the inner member.08-28-2008
20090219634KINEMATIC OPTICAL MOUNT - A positioning apparatus for providing relative movement between a first member and a second member has a lever element pivotably coupled to the first member along a fulcrum member and has an actuator arm and a positioner arm. First and second flexure elements extend between the positioner arm of the lever element and the second member. An actuator is coupled to the actuator arm of the lever element.09-03-2009

20100156228SYNCHRONOUS MACHINE AND A PROCESS OF MANUFACTURING A SYNCHRONOUS MACHINE - A synchronous machine and a process for manufacturing a synchronous machine having permanent magnets arranged within the rotor such that the leak of magnetic flux generated by the magnets is reduced and having constructive characteristics that maximize the difference in the reluctances of direct axis and quadrature axis while providing the strength necessary for the good functioning of the equipment. Magnet-fixation grooves of the rotor are provided with elongated ends in a curved shape, a first elongated end extending from the first free end to a region adjacent the end of the rotor groove bottom, the first elongated end being configured from an opening in the rotor, forming reluctance-increase channels, a second elongated end of the fixation grooves being configured so as to form the reluctance-increase channel and extending from the respective second free-end portion toward the second free-end portion of the other fixation groove of the pair.06-24-2010
