20110082764SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COORDINATING AND EVALUATING APPAREL - A computer implemented method and system for coordinating and evaluating apparel/accessory items. The system comprises a processor based client device and a processor based server. The client device receives information about an apparel/accessory item for coordination from a user. The server receives the information about the apparel/accessory item from the client device over a communications network. The server calculates a coordination score of the apparel/accessory item by applying a plurality of predetermined rules to determine if the apparel/accessory item coordinates with one or more apparel/accessory items in the virtual wardrobe. The server transmits a recommendation of one or more apparel/accessory items in said virtual wardrobe based on the coordination score. The virtual wardrobe can be user's apparels/accessories or a retailer's stock of apparels/accessories for sale.04-07-2011

20110217763A SEMICONDUCTOR FOR MEASURING BIOLOGICAL INTERACTIONS - An apparatus and method are disclosed for electrically directly detecting biomolecular binding in a semiconductor. The semiconductor can be based on electrical percolation of nanomaterial formed in the gate region. In one embodiment of an apparatus, a semiconductor includes first and second electrodes with a gate region there between. The gate region includes a multilayered matrix of electrically conductive material with capture molecules for binding target molecules, such as antibody, receptors, DNA, RNA, peptides and aptamer. The molecular interactions between the capture molecules and the target molecules disrupts the matrix's continuity resulting in a change in electrical resistance, capacitance or impedance. The increase in resistance, capacitance or impedance can be directly measured electronically, without the need for optical sensors or labels. The multi-layered matrix can be formed from a plurality of single-walled nanotubes, graphene, or buckeyballs or any kind of conductive nanowire, such as metal nanowires or nanowires made from conductive polymers.09-08-2011

20090132758RANK MODULATION FOR FLASH MEMORIES - We investigate a novel storage technology, Rank Modulation, for flash memories. In this scheme, a set of n cells stores information in the permutation induced by the different charge levels of the individual cells. The resulting scheme eliminates the need for discrete cell levels, and overshoot errors when programming cells (a serious problem that reduces the writing speed), as well as mitigate the problem of asymmetric errors. We present schemes for Gray codes, rewriting and joint coding in the rank modulation paradigm.05-21-2009
20090132895ERROR CORRECTING CODES FOR RANK MODULATION - We investigate error-correcting codes for a novel storage technology, which we call the rank-modulation scheme. In this scheme, a set of n cells stores information in the permutation induced by the different levels of the individual cells. The resulting scheme eliminates the need for discrete cell levels, and overshoot errors when programming cells (a serious problem that reduces the writing speed), as well as mitigates the problem of asymmetric errors. In this discussion, the properties of error correction in rank modulation codes are studied. We show that the adjacency graph of permutations is a subgraph of a multi-dimensional array of a special size, a property that enables code designs based on Lee-metric codes and L05-21-2009
