20080267456BIOMETRIC DATA COLLECTION SYSTEM - A data collection system having a touch screen and sensors behind the touch screen for obtaining biometric data about the user. While the user is making entries on the touch screen, one or more fingerprints of the user may be taken. There may be cameras taking pictures of the user for face and iris recognition purposes. There may be microphones detecting sounds for attaining voice prints of the user. Other data about the user may be acquired during use of the touch screen. This data and information may be obtained about the user without the user being aware of such acquisition.10-30-2008
20090002155Event detection system using electronic tracking devices and video devices - An event detection system includes a processor, an electronic tracking device, and one or more transmitters. Each of the one or more transmitters can be configured to be associated with a particular individual of a group of individuals. The processor can be configured to cluster data from the one or more transmitters, and the processor can be configured to analyze the clustered data to determine one or more behavior patterns among the group of individuals. In an embodiment, video data can be combined with the electronic tracking device data in the event detection system.01-01-2009
20090027195Augmented security system - A system for augmenting security sensor accuracy and reduction of false alarm signals. The system includes the security sensor system along with an external sensor system for measuring the effect of environmental conditions on the security sensors and further includes a sensor data augmentation component to adjust the sensitivity of the security sensors according to measured environmental conditions. Weather sensors and video sensors are two preferred external sensor systems.01-29-2009
20090080696Automated person identification and location for search applications - A “be on the look out” or BOLO device is an unsupervised device that can be deployed at a particular location to watch for a specific target or person. A camera produces scene images that the BOLO device analyzes to determine if they contain a pattern matching a target descriptor. If a matching pattern is found, then the BOLO device emits an alarm signal. The alarm signal can contain the BOLO device's location or identification. A location database can produce the device's location when given the device's identification. A target transmitter can supply new target descriptors to deployed BOLO devices.03-26-2009
20090191415SAFE TEMPERATURE CONNECTION FOR COMPONENTS - A connection made between components at a safe temperature for each of the components. A slot made may be provided on one component and a tab provided on the other component. The slot may be filled with an electrically conductive material. The tab may be inserted in the slot before significant curing of the material and kept in the slot throughout the curing period of the material. The curing may be effected at a temperature harmless to the components. For example, the temperature may be room temperature. One example of a temperature-sensitive component may be a thin battery.07-30-2009
20090237203IDENTIFICATION WITH RFID ASSET LOCATOR FOR ENTRY AUTHORIZATION - A system for controlling access at secure facilities to locations and assets contained in those locations, comprising a biometric identification device, an RFID tag and receiver, and a database for processing information from them to allow or deny access to the locations and assets. The system ties into an existing network in the facility and also includes a programming device for evaluation of the biometric template and acknowledgement of the identification, if made. The system also controls the permissible locations of assets such as laptops, desktop computers, photographic equipment, weapons such as rifles, data storage devices and the like, such that while a person may have access to a location, use of an asset or removal of the asset may not be part of that person's authorized conduct.09-24-2009
20100308993EVENT DETECTION SYSTEM USING ELECTRONIC TRACKING DEVICES AND VIDEO DEVICES - An event detection system includes a processor, an electronic tracking device, and one or more transmitters. Each of the one or more transmitters can be configured to be associated with a particular individual of a group of individuals. The processor can be configured to cluster data from the one or more transmitters, and the processor can be configured to analyze the clustered data to determine a group behavior pattern among the group of individuals. In an embodiment, video data can be combined with the electronic tracking device data in the event detection system.12-09-2010

20080274514PENETRABLE CAP HAVING SPACED-APART GROOVES - A cap having a plurality of spaced-apart grooves in a downwardly tapered inner wall of the cap to facilitate the formation of air passageways as the cap is penetrated by a pipette tip. The air passageways aid in venting air from a fluid-holding vessel closed with the cap.11-06-2008
20090301230METHOD FOR REMOVING A FLUID SUBSTANCE FROM A SEALED COLLECTION DEVICE - A method for removing a fluid substance from a sealed collection device comprising a cap and a fluid-holding vessel, where the method aids in venting air from the collection device when the cap is penetrated by a fluid transfer device used to withdraw a fluid substance from the vessel. Venting is aided by incorporating a pause step between penetrating the cap and contacting the fluid substance held by the vessel with the fluid transfer device or by contacting the cap at a slower speed than the fluid transfer device enters the collection device after the cap has been penetrated.12-10-2009
20100203547METHOD FOR ACCESSING THE CONTENTS OF A CLOSED VESSEL CONTAINING A SPECIMEN RETRIEVAL DEVICE - Method for obtaining a fluid from a collection device assembled to isolate a specimen retrieval device from the pathway of a fluid transfer device used to penetrate a cap of the collection device and to draw and remove the fluid from the collection device for analysis.08-12-2010
