20100032367FLEXIBLE RETICULATED FOAM FLUID TREATMENT MEDIA AND METHOD OF PREPARATION - Flexible reticulated foam fluid treatment media and a method of making same. The flexible fluid treatment media includes a flexible reticulated foam substrate, a binder coating the flexible reticulated foam substrate and a plurality of particles compressed into the binder to form a durable interconnected layer of particles that are bound together and collectively fixed to the substrate. The flexible reticulated foam fluid treatment media is flexible and easily cut and shaped without damaging the particle layer to form a wide variety of shapes and sizes that lend themselves to use within an equally wide variety of pipes, conduits, ducts, skimmers, filter housings and fluid treatment devices. The method used to create the fluid treatment reticulated foam media includes the steps of coating a soft reticulated foam substrate with a binder, subjecting the coated substrate to compression forces, allowing the coated substrate surface to become tacky, coating the binder with a plurality of metal particles or metal oxides or activated carbon particles or intimate mixtures of these particles combined together, subjecting the coated substrate to compression forces using a roller or by passing the coated substrate between a pair of adjacent rollers, removing any excess metal particles, and curing the binder by air drying using ambient air or heated air, and removing any excess particles.02-11-2010
20100147760FILTER CARTRIDGE CONTAINING RETICULATED FOAM FLUID TREATMENT MEDIA - A filter assembly for removing contaminants from a fluid includes a filter housing, a filter cartridge, and a reticulated foam fluid treatment media. The filter housing has an inlet, an outlet and a chamber extending through the filter housing. The filter cartridge is positioned in the chamber of the filter housing and is constructed from a fibrous material used to filter contaminants from a fluid. The reticulated foam fluid treatment media is disposed within a passageway of the filter cartridge. The reticulated foam fluid treatment media includes a porous polymeric substrate having surfaces, including pore walls, and particles secured to the surfaces of the porous polymeric substrate via a binder, the particles being substantially uniformly distributed throughout the porous polymeric substrate via sonic vibration of the porous polymeric substrate and particles.06-17-2010
20100206799Liquid Filter - The fluid treatment system of the present invention includes a liquid filtering method and apparatus. Generally, the liquid filtering apparatus has a housing with at least one inlet, at least one outlet, and an internal chamber extending therebetween such that the at least one inlet and the at least one outlet are in fluid communication with the internal chamber of the housing. The liquid filtering apparatus also has a first filter disposed in the internal chamber of the housing in proximity to the at least one inlet, the first filter capable of removing particulate matter from a liquid entering the internal chamber of the housing via the inlet thereof; and a second filter disposed in the internal chamber of the housing in proximity to the at least one outlet, the second filter capable of removing dissolved impurities from the liquid entering the internal chamber of the housing via the Inlet thereof. Generally, the liquid filtering method includes the steps of providing the filtering apparatus described above, connecting the filtering apparatus to a liquid dispensing source and passing a liquid through the filtering apparatus such that the liquid passes through the at least one inlet into the internal chamber of the housing, through the first filter, through the second filter and out the at least one outlet.08-19-2010

20100251093Automated Document Formatting Tool - A formatting tool enables “smart” copy and paste functions. The “smart” copy and paste functions can be invoked in a context-sensitive manner, depending on the conditions under which the copy and paste functions are implemented. The present invention will automatically include in a selection a paragraph marker at the end of a selected paragraph, if every other textual character in the paragraph has been selected. The present invention will discard a paragraph mark that is included in pasted text if the pasted text is pasted into the middle of another paragraph, indicating that the user prefers the formatting of the pasted-into paragraph. The present invention also reduces inconsistencies in formatting styles that may exist between source and target documents automatically redefining a style in the target document to conform to a corresponding style in the source document. The present invention also automatically adjusts paragraph spacing, in response to text being pasted into a target document. In response to various scenarios, the present invention will determine the most likely paragraph spacing intended by the user and will apply the most probable paragraph spacing to the pasted paragraph. The present invention also automatically adjusts list, table, and spreadsheet formatting, in response to such document elements being pasted into a differently-formatted target document. Finally, the present invention provides a convenient recovery dialog that may be invoked to alter any automatically-implemented formatting decisions.09-30-2010

20100278317SPEAKER RECOGNITION IN A MULTI-SPEAKER ENVIRONMENT AND COMPARISON OF SEVERAL VOICE PRINTS TO MANY - One-to-many comparisons of callers' voice prints with known voice prints to identify any matches between them. When a customer communicates with a particular entity, such as a customer service center, the system makes a recording of the real-time call including both the customer's and agent's voices. The system segments the recording to extract at least a portion of the customer's voice to create a customer voice print, and it formats the segmented voice print for network transmission to a server. The server compares the customer's voice print with multiple known voice prints to determine any matches, meaning that the customer's voice print and one of the known voice prints are likely from the same person. The identification of any matches can be used for a variety of purposes, such as determining whether to authorize a transaction requested by the customer.11-04-2010
