20080202139Vehicle Environmental Conditioning System and Method - An air conditioning system for a vehicle includes a climate control system for selectively heating and cooling ambient air in a passenger compartment of the vehicle. One or more fans cooperate with the climate control system and are configured to draw air from the passenger compartment to expel air to the exterior of the vehicle. One or more devices are provided in proximity to the passenger compartment to detect a variety of conditions of the air in the passenger compartment. The one or more devices selectively signal a controller to activate and deactivate the one or more fans prior to an occupant entering the vehicle. The controller may activate the one or more fans to draw air from the passenger compartment based on detection of predetermined conditions in response to input from the one or more devices.08-28-2008
20090064809Rotary control knob assembly - A control knob assembly includes a housing and a knob mounted for rotary motion on the housing about a pivot axis. A cursor is mounted on the knob and spaced from the pivot axis. The cursor moves in a circular path as the knob is rotated. The assembly further includes a plurality of sensors spaced in a linear arrangement along a linear axis. Each of the sensors generates a signal upon detection of the presence of the cursor when the cursor is adjacent the sensor as the cursor moves along its circular path. The signal is representative of an angular position of the knob relative to the housing.03-12-2009

20100181517Helical Fluid Flow Conduit - A conduit with helical fluid flow. The conduit has a generally cylindrical housing with a side wall coupled with opposing end walls. An inlet and an outlet are coupled with the side wall. At least a portion of the inlet, and preferably the outlet, is tangential to the side wall to promote helical fluid flow within the conduit. Alternatively, the conduit includes a piston positioned within the housing that is moveable between an open position allowing fluid to flow from the inlet to the outlet and a closed position blocking fluid flow from the inlet to the outlet.07-22-2010
20110095111METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SEPARATING, PURIFYING, PROMOTING INTERACTION AND IMPROVING COMBUSTION - An apparatus and method for separating joined components, purifying liquid, promoting interaction between two or more components and improving combustion. The apparatus has a housing, a rotor inside of the housing, a plurality of protrusions extending from the rotor, a shaft coupled with the rotor and a prime mover for rotating the shaft. Fluid within the housing cavitates as the rotor rotates and the protrusions move through the fluid. Cavitation causes joined components within the fluid to separate, kills undesirable organisms within the fluid, promotes interaction of components within the fluid and improves combustion of a liquid fuel. The fluid and components may also be subjected to abrasion and centrifugal and impact forces for separating the components, purifying the fluid, promoting interaction of the components and improving combustion.04-28-2011
