20090105524DEVICE FOR INDUCING BETTER SLEEP - A device for inducing better sleep embedded with music having a tempo of about sixty to about eighty beats-per-minute. Listening to music with a tempo of approximately 60 to approximately 80 beats-per-minute results in significantly better sleep quality, better perceived sleep quality, longer sleep duration and greater sleep efficiency. Embodiments of the device can include, among other things, an alarm clock, a pillow, mobile, sleep mask, crib or a stuffed toy for use with children. Embodiments of the device including a travel clock, travel pillow, or mobile device allowing the device to be easily transported for purposes of inducing better sleep during travel are also contemplated.04-23-2009

20100261889PROTEIN BASED FOAMING AGENTS AND METHODS OF MAKING THEREOF - Described herein are protein based foams and methods for making the same. The foams are derived from proteins that have been hydrolysed and chemically modified such that a foam produced from the protein has improved physical properties (e.g., reduced surface tension, increased foamability and foam stability). The protein is recovered from the animal rendering process as a component of an animal by-product (e.g., bloodmeal, bonemeal or meat).10-14-2010

20080278397MULTI-BEAM AND MULTI-BAND ANTENNA SYSTEM FOR COMMUNICATION SATELLITES - An antenna system includes a reflector having a modified-paraboloid shape; and a multi-beam, multi-band feed array located at a focal point of the reflector so that the antenna system forms a multiple congruent beams that are contiguous. The system has a single reflector with non-frequency selective surface. The reflector is sized to produce a required beam size at K-band frequencies and is oversized at EHF-band frequencies. The synthesized reflector surface is moderately shaped and disproportionately broadens EHF-band and Ka-band beams compared to K-band beams. The synthesized reflector surface forms multiple beams each having a 0.5-degree diameter at K-band, Ka-band, and EHF band. The multi-beam, multi-band feed array includes a number of high-efficiency, multi-mode circular horns that operate in focused mode at K-band and defocused mode at Ka-band and EHF-band by employing “frequency-dependent” design for the horns.11-13-2008

20080249552Working tool for medical purposes with rotating blade of adjustable size and a method thereof - The present invention relates to a cost effective working tool useful for lateral resection of biological tissues by means of a flexible blade with an adjustable curve size. Said rod-like tool has a distal end, adapted to be inserted into a body cavity, and a proximal end, located adjacent to a user. The longitudinal axis of said maneuverable blade is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the said tool or shifted in respect to the same. The working tool comprising a bending mechanism, adapted to adjust the bending of said blade to a predetermined measure and a rotating mechanism, adapted to rotate said blade in a lateral, bi-directional movement in respect to the resected tissue such that a side-to-side resection is obtained. A novel method of lateral resecting of biological tissues by the same is also presented.10-09-2008

20110242306SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTOMATED DETECTION OF AGE RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION AND OTHER RETINAL ABNORMALITIES - A system and method for automated detection of age related macular degeneration and other retinal abnormalities which may have a retinal scanner capable of obtaining retinal data from a subject. The retinal scanner may be coupled to a central processing unit (CPU) which may have memory storing CPU-executable instructions which may detect retinal abnormalities. When the CPU receives retinal data from the retinal scanner, the system may perform CPU-executable instructions for detecting retinal abnormalities. The system may analyze the retinal data to determine one or more healthy areas and, based on the analyzed healthy area, the system may detect abnormalities in the retinal data.10-06-2011

20100070504GLOBAL INFORMATION NETWORK ARCHITECTURE - The present invention provides a Global Information Architecture (GINA) to create an object-oriented, software-based modeling environment for the modeling of various data sources and allowing queries and transactions across those sources. The modeling environment is described in itself. Introspection is achieved since the model is described in the model, and early validation that the infrastructure is correct is established in that the infrastructure must execute against itself. Object traversal is done via vectors that describe how an object can be reached from other objects. Objects are linked by describing what type of object (data source) is to be reached and on the basis of what possible attribute values of that object. GINA allows different users to have different views of these data sources depending upon their WorldSpace. A user's view of the data source is controlled by his WorldSpace, which are the attributes he has that makes him unique. These attributes can include (among others) his username, roles, language, locale, and organization. These WorldSpace views can also impact the behavior of the data sources. GINA allows for object to object event driven behavior and provides a configuration centric versus coding centric methodology for integrating those various data sources.03-18-2010
