20090235763Chuck-integrated force-measuring system - A chuck-integrated force-measuring system for determining cutting forces at the cutting tool tip of a rotating tool, for example a drill or milling cutter having at least one measuring sensor, as well as a measured-value processing station. The at least one measuring sensor is designed as a strain sensor which is placeable on a tool holder of a machine tool. A measuring hub assembly is also provided which is insertable as an adapter piece into the chuck of the machine tool and is designed with its own chuck for receiving the tool, the at least one measuring sensor being integrated in the adapter piece.09-24-2009
20100241265METHOD FOR MONITORING A PRODUCTION PROCESS - A method for monitoring a production process with regard to quality is disclosed. The method includes: a) breaking down the production process into a sequence of individual steps, defined by a sequence of control commands for a production program for carrying out the production process on a machine tool; b) generating at least one signal template per individual step of the production process from the control commands for the individual steps, each signal template corresponding to a theoretical signal curve for a parameter which may be measured upon executing the production process; c) measurement of a signal curve for at least one parameter per individual step during the execution; and d) comparison of the or each measured signal curve with the respective arithmetically generated signal template, wherein a qualitatively poor production process is determined if the measured signal curve deviates from the signal template by more than a given tolerance.09-23-2010

20090314682NANOPARTICULATE-CATALYZED OXYGEN TRANSFER PROCESSES - Nanoparticulates of oxygen transfer materials that are oxides of rare earth metals, combinations of rare earth metals, and combinations of transition metals and rare earth metals are used as catalysts in a variety of processes. Unexpectedly large thermal efficiencies are achieved relative to micron sized particulates. Processes that use these catalysts are exemplified in a multistage reactor. The exemplified reactor cracks C6 to C20 hydrocarbons, desulfurizes the hydrocarbon stream and reforms the hydrocarbons in the stream to produce hydrogen. In a first reactor stage the steam and hydrocarbon are passed through particulate mixed rare earth metal oxide to crack larger hydrocarbon molecules. In a second stage, the steam and hydrocarbon are passed through particulate material that desulfurizes the hydrocarbon. In a third stage, the hydrocarbon and steam are passed through a heated, mixed transition metal/rare earth metal oxide to reform the lower hydrocarbons and thereby produce hydrogen. Stages can be alone or combined. Parallel reactors can provide continuous reactant flow. Each of the processes can be carried out individually.12-24-2009

20110149235PAD TRANSFER PRINTING METHOD FOR MAKING COLORED CONTACT LENSES - The present invention generally relates to a pad transfer printing method for making colored hydrogel contact lenses with good image quality. More specifically, the present invention relates to make and use a pad transfer printing pad comprises an addition-cure room temperature vulcanized silicon, which has subjected to post-heat treating. The post-heat treated pad transfer printing pad is characterized by having a reduced silicone residue release by at least 50 percent relative to a control transfer pad having identical composition without post heat treating.06-23-2011
