SULFIDISATION PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR ENHANCED RECOVERY OF OXIDISED AND SURFACE OXIDISED BASE AND PRECIOUS METAL MINERALS - A method of treating value bearing material comprising oxidised or surface oxidised mineral values includes the steps of crushing the value bearing material, contacting the crushed material! with a sulfide solution to sulfide the oxidised or surface oxidised mineral values, and adding ions of a selected base metal to the crushed value bearing material. The value bearing material may comprise oxidised or surface oxidised base metal or precious metal minerals. The crushed value bearing material is prepared as a slurry or pulp comprising from 15% to 40% solids and the remainder comprising water. The sulfide solution preferably comprises a soluble sulfidiser such as sodium hydrosulfide and the base-metal ion solution preferably comprises metal salt of base metals like copper or iron. In a preferred embodiment of the method, the sulfide ion concentration in the slurry is measured with an ion-specific probe which measures the sulfide ion concentration as a potential, and the quantity of sulfidiser solution in the slurry is adjusted to maintain the measured sulfide ion concentration at or near the predetermined value. The invention extends to an installation for treating value bearing material according to the method. | 12-24-2009

MULTI-STAGE SWITCHABLE INERTIA TRACK ASSEMBLY - A two vacuum actuated switch mechanism is provided within an engine or hydromount. First and second ports are provided along a peripheral portion of an inertia track assembly. A decoupler or vacuum diaphragm is selectively exposed to vacuum through a first port. Under the influence of the vacuum, the decoupler can no longer oscillate. If vacuum is applied only to the decoupler, and not and idle diaphragm, the fluid is forced through a low frequency inertia track which creates high levels of damping and low frequencies. If vacuum is also applied to the decoupler and the idle diaphragm, the high frequency inertia track is opened and causes the fluid to flow therethrough. This creates a high frequency dynamic rate dip. Alternatively, if no vacuum is applied to either the decoupler or the idle diaphragm, the decoupler is allowed to freely oscillate creating a decoupled state for low input displacements. Higher input displacements results in fluids being forced through the low frequency inertia track. An integrated accumulator is disposed between the port and the decoupler to reduce or eliminate air resonance response, buffering the pumping effect of the decoupler in a decoupled state. | 02-03-2011

CONSTRUCTING A BAYESIAN NETWORK BASED ON RECEIVED EVENTS ASSOCIATED WITH NETWORK ENTITIES - Records of events associated with network entities in a network environment are received, where the network entities are selected from hardware entities, software entities, and combinations of hardware and software entities. The records of the events are identified to identify relationships between events associated with different ones of the network entities, where the records of the events identify corresponding network entities impacted by the events. A Bayesian network is constructed based on the analyzing, wherein the constructed Bayesian network is able to make predictions regarding relationships between events associated with the network elements. | 05-10-2012

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR SYNCHRONISING STATIONS WITHIN COMMUNICATIONS NETWORKS AND STATIONS FOR USE THEREIN - A system for synchronising stations in a communications network comprising: at least one airborne or space-based vehicle; and at least two stations, each station having receiver means in data communication with the at least one airborne or space-based vehicle and control means in data communication with the receiver means and in control communication with a communication means. When each receiver means receives a synchronisation signal from the at least one airborne or space-based vehicle each receiver means forwards the synchronisation signal to its respective control means. The respective control means processes the synchronisation signal to determine the operational frequency required by its respective communication means to maintain or establish communication with the other station. The respective control means also operates to control its respective communication means to change to the determined operational frequency. | 05-26-2011

Method and Apparatus for Electrochemically Dissolving Selected Regions of Conducting Objects in Tissue - A method and apparatus are described for selectively removing parts of a conducting object imbedded in tissue using an electrolytic process. The method includes steps for protecting the surrounding tissue from damage during the electrolytic process. Applications for the invention include sectioning surgical and/or post-mortem tissue for gross and microscopic examination, in situations where the tissue is complicated by the presence of a metal implant. | 12-11-2008
