SUPPORTED DAVIT ARM EXTENSION ASSEMBLY FOR CABLE SUSPENDED DESCENT APPARATUS - A supported davit arm extension assembly for a descent apparatus comprising an escape shuttle suspended from a cable defining a descent path from an initial point at a receiver of a platform to a terminal point proximate to a ground surface. The extension assembly comprises a davit arm extending above the platform and secured to the receiver, and a fall arrest trolley operatively coupled to the shuttle at a first end and terminating at a second end extending substantially away from the terminal point. The second end of the fall arrest trolley has a securement point for connection to and support of a load, such as a worker, by an overhead fall arrest. While the shuttle is docked with the receiver, the fall arrest trolley extends over the platform, supported by the davit arm, and facilitates substantially unfettered movement of the worker around the platform. As the worker enters the shuttle, it is disengaged from the receiver and follows the descent path of the cable toward the ground surface. The second end of the fall arrest trolley rides along the davit arm and onto the cable and is thereafter supported thereon through the descent of the shuttle. | 02-28-2013

ONLINE PLAYBACK SYSTEM WITH COMMUNITY BIAS - A method for entertaining individuals according to a community having similar tastes. Information derived from user accounts form the basis of a community and collateral preferences allow other subscribing individuals to enjoy the benefit of wider-ranging tastes according to the preferences expressed by the other members of the community. Additionally, assuming that individuals sharing one preference in common may be likely to share others, the present method allows those who choose to listen to the “fan station” the ability to enjoy similar music or other data streams according to preferences expressed by the fan community as a whole. | 03-26-2009

INTERNET RADIO AND BROADCAST METHOD - Data streams are generally selected according to user preferences and transmitted to the user in general alignment with expressed preferences of the user. Such data streams may be audio, video, or other works, such as popular music or the like, or other works, including music videos. Using a large database on the order of tens or hundreds of thousands of songs, users may indicate their general or specific preferences with regards to song, artists, or albums. Other users, particularly ones who access the system often, can act as influencers or controllers of the music transmitted to the user. Any other aspects or factors that might affect the user's preferences can be taken into account, such as popular radio stations in the United States or anywhere in the world. A playlist is created that combines all of these factors, as well as any applicable statutory regulations. The playlist then serves as the basis for feeding the data streams to the user, who is then able to enjoy music generally of his or her choosing, while additionally being exposed to new music (if the user so prefers). An Internet radio is thus established using the expansive and diverse abilities present in the Internet. Each user is able to express his or her own preferences and receive music corresponding to those preferences on an on-going basis. Every individual then is like the manager of his or her own radio station and may broadcast to him- or herself the music that parallels his or her tastes. Other users may also choose to hear the same playlist as another individual, or allow that individual to influence their playlist. | 08-12-2010

Extensible category and property grouping for object editing - Various techniques for assembling object properties are disclosed. For example, one such method includes receiving an object identification that indicates an object, and receiving a property associated with the object. Property category identification is performed that identifies a property category associated with the aforementioned property, and the property is dynamically associated with the identified property category. In some instances, such methods further include providing a category editor that allows for modifying a plurality of properties associated with the property category. | 01-01-2009
AUTOMATICALLY CREATING BUSINESS APPLICATIONS FROM DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS PROCESSES - An application builder tool creates business applications from user provided business descriptions. The application builder is customized using metadata and the metadata may be extended. The metadata provides a set of business terms to the user and the information required to generate an application from those terms. The user either selects terms from the list or enters new business terms to describe the business problem they want the application to automate. The application builder analyzes the terms the user provides and uses the metadata associated with those terms to select, generate and combine business application components. The result is a functioning business application. | 08-16-2012

Arbitrary Object Editing - The present invention provides technologies for forming an editing interface for editing arbitrary objects. In particular, the present invention provides system and methods for enumerating object properties, selecting a suitable pre-existing object editor and, if no such pre-existing editor is available, constructing an object editor on the fly suitable for editing the properties of the object where the object may include properties and/or collections of objects. Construction of a suitable editor is based on enumeration of object properties and on the serialization of the object using a descriptive language such as extensible markup language (“XML”) or the like. Property values specified by a user via the object interface and editors are stored in a descriptive format such as XML and generally specify the initial characteristics of the object. | 10-16-2008
