20090112208EXTERNAL BONE SCREW SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USE FOR FRACTURES, FUSIONS OR OSTEOTOMIES - A bone screw system is disclosed. The bone screw system allows a bone screw to be inserted into a bone via a guide set with a plurality of pins. After the bone screw is inserted, a head portion of an extension member attached to the bone screw remains external to the wound such that the bone screw can be tightened later without re-opening the wound. The bone screw system is applicable to bone fractures, bone fusions, Osteomonies and other bone connectivity procedures. After healing, the bone screw may be left in the patient by removing an upper portion or the screw may be removed with additional incisions and a local anesthetic.04-30-2009
20100069814SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR UTILIZING MICROBUBBLES AND LIPOSOMES AS VIRAL SEQUESTERING AGENTS - A system and method of utilizing microbubbles and liposomes as viral sequestering agents. Microbubbles and liposomes having polyanions and conjugation systems are injected into the bloodstream of a subject human or animal. The microbubbles and/or liposomes attract virus particles including envelope viruses. After the microbubbles and/or liposomes have circulated in the blood for a pre-established time period, the microbubbles and/or liposomes along with attached virus particles are separated from the blood of the subject by passing the blood over or through a substrate or using a centrifuge. The substrate includes a conjugation system which has an affinity for the polyanions of the microbubbles and/or liposomes. As the microbubbles and/or liposomes and attached virus particles are removed from the blood, the viral titer of the subject is lowered. The microbubbles and/or liposomes may also be mixed with blood and filtered outside of the subject such that the microbubbles and/or liposomes are never in the bloodstream of the subject.03-18-2010

20090141962REMOTE DEPOSIT CAPTURE FOR THE GAMING INDUSTRY - A remote deposit capture system for distributed processing of check presentation can sense, or be instructed to differentiate, between deposit document types, including checks, cash withdrawals, and casino markets. Thereby, automated recognition and correction features can be selectively applied to an imaged deposit document. Thereby deposit documents that tend to use identical transaction codes, such as the same routing/transit numbers in magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) code line data, can be effectively processed without a high failure rate due to duplicate detection. Yet the advantages of duplicate detection are still leveraged against other deposit types. Alternatively or in addition, duplicate detection can be selected to not depend upon uniqueness of MICR code line data.06-04-2009

20110112742METHOD FOR THE CONTROL OF A SWITCHABLE WATER PUMP IN AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE - A method is provided for the control of a switchable water pump for a water cooling circuit in an internal combustion engine. The method includes, but is not limited to monitoring a parameter representative of the cylinder head temperature and, in case the temperature is below a predetermined value, perform at least an on-off cycle for the switchable water pump. The on-off cycle, includes, but is not limited to at least a first phase in which the water pump is switched OFF for a time period T05-12-2011

20090314463Radiant Panel - A radiant panel which can be used for heating or cooling and in floors, walls and ceilings, has a honeycomb layer of vertical metal webs or fins and rigid upper and lower cover boards rigidly adhered to upper and lower surfaces of the honeycomb layer. The upper cover board has router-cut channel there through, the channel having a width and being elongated in the shape of a selected pattern for at least one heat transfer tube that extends along the channel in the selected pattern. The tube is pressed into the honeycomb layer past the upper surface of the honeycomb layer for at least partly crushing the metal webs or fins of honeycomb layer in the areas of the channel for establishing a heat transfer engagement between the tube and the honeycomb layer. Dragon Board Brand construction board is preferred as the cover boards, the honeycomb layer as preferably aluminum and a heat reflecting layer is preferably adhered to the lower surface of the lower cover board.12-24-2009
