20110262807Carbon Nanotube Augmented Sulfur Cathode for an Elemental Sulfur Battery - An electrode for a battery is augmented with vertically aligned carbon nanotubes, allowing both improved storage density of lithium ions and the increase electrical and thermal conductivity. Carbon nanotubes are extremely good electrical and thermal conductors, and can be grown directly on the electrode (e.g., anode or cathode) current collector metals, allowing direct electrical contact. Additionally carbon nanotubes have an ideal aspect ratio, having lengths potentially thousands of times as long as their widths, 10 to 1,000 nanometers. In an embodiment, the carbon nanotube electrode (e.g., a cathode) comprises embedded elemental sulfur, allowing both the improved retention of elemental sulfur and increase electrical conductivity. The surface of carbon nanotubes are nearly chemically identical to carbon, binding the sulfur atoms to the carbon nanotubes, preventing the “loss” of sulfur with the formation of LiS intermediate products.10-27-2011

20100192538Capacitive Stator - A standard 4-pole electric motor stator with capacitive plates in-line with the magnetic poles, but electrically 90° out of phase, produces two Lorentz force geometries 90° out of phase with each other (i.e., vertical, horizontal). An alternating source electrically rotates this pair of Lorentz geometries producing a propagating electromagnetic wave at the source frequency within the vacant internal cavity. Any charged particle within the cavity and along its axis will be accelerated or decelerated from an initial velocity via the Lorentz force. The rotating geometry provides for the coupling of the Lorentz force through a current loop and diamagnetism, providing acceleration and deceleration of non-charged particles. The force coupling is dependent upon the material's electromagnetic properties, the frequencies generated by the capacitive stator, and the velocity of the particles within the capacitive stator's influence.08-05-2010

20110218086APPARATUS AND METHOD OF GRAVITY-ASSISTED SPINAL STRETCHING - An apparatus and method for stretching and/or exercising a user's body through incremental, controlled inversion and lower body stretching, preferably performed in combination. The user lies atop an exercise table and restrains her lower body to a restraint movably coupled to the exercise table. The user preferably controls the actuation of a first actuator to incrementally pivot the exercise table about a support structure thereby inverting the user's body. Before or after actuation of the first actuator, but preferably concurrently therewith, the user controls the actuation of a second actuator to incrementally extend the restraint axially away from the exercise table thereby pulling the user's lower body away from the user's upper body. This combination of gravity and mechanical decompression produces greater results than either action by itself.09-08-2011
