MEMORY IN SUBJECTS WITH MINI-MENTAL STATE EXAMINATION OF 24-26 - The invention thus pertains to the use of a composition comprising: (a) uridine or uridine phosphate; and (b) docosahexaenoic acid and/or eicosapentaenoic acid, for improving memory and/or the treatment or prevention of impaired memory function, in a subject with a mini-mental state examination of 24-26, wherein said composition is enterally administered to the subject. In the MMSE test, any score of 27 or higher (out of 30) is effectively normal. In the patients with dementia, 20-26 indicates mild dementia, 10-19 moderate dementia, and below 10 severe dementia. It was the present inventors' belief that within the group of 20-26, the memory impairment in the sub-group of 24-26 may even be reversible, as the pathological pathways have just started to develop. In this group of subjects the pathological pathways have just started to develop. Clinical studies show excellent results for this subgroup. | 12-30-2010

PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING EXERCISE MOTIONS OF A PERSON - The present invention relates to a process and a system for monitoring exercise motions of a person. The process comprises monitoring a first sensor signal from the person. While the first sensor signal does not deviate from a first sensor signal template by more than a pre-determined amount, signals from further sensors from the person are monitored, compared to templates processing and the comparison result is evaluated. If unit sensor signals deviate from the templates by more than a pre-determined value this is communicated to the person. | 09-16-2010

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEASURING TILT USING LOWEST DEGREES OF FREEDOM OF ACCELEROMETER - Systems and methods are provided for calculating the tilt of an object from a minimum set of measurements. In the described embodiments, one or more accelerometers are used to sense tilt in fewer degrees of freedom than would otherwise be required in a conventional measurement apparatus. In one embodiment, a single axis accelerometer measures 2D tilt by taking into account a constant value of the earth's gravitational field in a direction generally perpendicular to the earth. | 10-21-2010

LIMB MOVEMENT MONITORING SYSTEM - A limb movement monitoring system, comprising a motion sensor, a garment comprising spatially addressable photonic textiles and spatially resolving pressure-sensitive textiles and furthermore a muscular activity sensor, a processing unit processing the data from the sensors and issuing illumination commands to the spatially addressable photonic textiles and a database. There is furthermore a process for monitoring limb movement by the system. | 02-11-2010
SWITCHABLE JOINT CONSTRAINT SYSTEM - The present invention concerns a switchable joint constraint system comprising at least one motion sensor, a joint constraint which is switchable between a mobile and an immobile state, a signal processing unit and a database. Motion sensor signals are compared to predefined situations. The joint constraint is switched according to whether predefined situations are met. The present invention furthermore concerns a process for handling sensor signals in such a system. The system may be used to support a constraint induced therapy (CIT) for the treatment of e. g. hemiplegy. | 05-13-2010
ASSISTANCE SYSTEM FOR VISUALLY HANDICAPPED PERSONS - An assistance system for visually handicapped persons with visual impair in a part of their visual field aims at providing a technical solution for these persons, informing them actively about objects or movements in the visually impaired side, by way of body-worn sensors. | 08-19-2010

HEALTH MANAGEMENT DEVICE - The invention relates to a health management system comprising a body or limb movement detecting means for detecting the movements and position of a users body or limb(s) in 3D space, a movement analyzing means for analyzing the data of the measurement carried out by the body or limb movement detecting means, wherein the body or limb movement detecting means comprises at least three sensors or markers for tracking a user's body or limb movement in 3D space by measuring an angle embedded by two body parts of the user which are connected to each other by a joint being the apex of the angle to be measured, at which one of the sensors or markers is provided. To detect the offset a change in distance between two neighboring sensors or markers indicates an offset of the sensor at the joint spaced apart from the apex. | 10-15-2009
SENSOR ARRANGEMENT FOR HOME REHABILITATION - A sensor arrangement for home rehabilitation in particular after a stroke comprising at least two sensors. The sensors are attached to the user's body. Each sensor includes—a receiver for receiving a first signal being generated from a source outside the sensor | 01-07-2010
