MOBILE SYSTEM FOR IMPROVING THE PICKING AND PRELIMINARY PROCESSING OF APPLES, CITRUS, STONE FRUIT AND LIKE OBJECTS - A mobile system for improving the picking and preliminary processing of apples, citrus, stone fruit and the like is disclosed and claimed. The system comprises a mobile chassis upon which can be mounted picking stations, pneumatic tube transport subsystems, receiving and conveying subsystems, object scanning subsystems, cull diverter subsystems, labeling subsystems, and subsystems for relatively gently placing the objects in a predetermined location in a receiving bin. The system can also include a subsystem for gently placing diverted objects in a receiving bin. | 02-18-2010
DOWNLOADER CONVEYOR FOR APPLES AND LIKE OBJECTS - A downloader conveyor is described and claimed. The downloader conveyor comprises an endless belt to which a plurality of cups is pivotally attached. The cups are adapted to receive apples or like relatively delicate objects. As the cups containing the apples descend into the bin, the cups rotate so as to permit the apples or other objects to roll out of or exit from the cups and to retard the cup acceleration. Each apple engages a skirt, which breaks the fall of the exiting apple. A distal end of the skirt can be arranged to scrape over the bin floor or scrape over the top of apples or other objects already placed in the bin, so as to again break the fall of the apple so that the apple is placed in the bin without substantial freefall. | 09-16-2010

Oral hygiene devices - Oral hygiene devices employing an ultrasound transducer are disclosed. The device is user-activatable to commence an operating cycle, and has a controller that may provide a timing function and may provide a variable level of ultrasound transducer output during an operating cycle. The controller may provide a monitoring function that is capable of detecting an ultrasound transducer fault condition and alert a user, through a user interface, when an ultrasound transducer fault condition is detected. The controller may be programmed to count the number of device operating cycles or accumulate the total device operating time and activate a transducer replacement signal following a predetermined number of uses or a predetermined accumulated operating time. The ultrasound transducer assembly may be provided in operative communication with an ultrasound drive circuit and power supply by means of a transformer assembly that inductively couples and transfers power from the ultrasound drive circuit to the ultrasound transducer. | 09-04-2008

HOLDER FOR A TELECOMMUNICATIONS DEVICE - A holder for a telecommunications device includes a container including a side wall connected to a base. Together the side wall and base define a cavity. Side wall defines an opening of the container at an end of the side wall distal to the base. A resilient insert is disposed inside the cavity. The insert includes a bottom portion that abuts the base and a feature for releasably retaining the device inside the container. A lid is in selective locking engagement with the side wall's distal end. When in locking engagement, the lid encloses the opening of the container to retain the device inside the holder, and to muffle a sound and/or a vibration produced by the device. A locking mechanism is operatively attached to the container and/or the lid, and holds the lid and the container together when the lid is in locking engagement with the distal end. | 05-17-2012

The spacer assembly may be located axially between the first and second bearing assemblies and may include first and second members. The first member may be axially fixed on the pinion shaft and may include an axial end defining a first generally conical surface. The second member may include a first axial end engaged with the second bearing assembly and a second axial end defining a second generally conical surface abutting the first generally conical surface. The load adjustment member may be axially displaceable relative to the pinion shaft to advance the second member axially along the first generally conical surface of the first member and adjust a preload on the second bearing assembly. | 09-30-2010 |
