20090014227PARKING ASSIST SYSTEM WITH STEERING CUES - Disclosed is a method for assisting the parking of a vehicle. The method includes determining a vehicle position relative to an obstacle. When the relative position meets a first set of criteria, a first torque pulse is delivered to the steering wheel in the first direction to cue an operator of the vehicle to turn the steering wheel in the first direction. When the relative position meets a second set of criteria, a second torque pulse is delivered to the steering wheel in the second direction, opposite to the first direction to cue the operator to turn the steering wheel in the second direction. A system for assisting the parking of a vehicle is also disclosed.01-15-2009
20090091435SYSTEMS, METHODS AND COMPUTER PRODUCTS FOR DROWSY DRIVER DETECTION AND RESPONSE - Systems and methods and computer products for drowsy driver detection and response. Exemplary embodiments include systems and methods and computer products for determining that a vehicle has engaged in a lane violation, determining a severity of the lane violation, determining a drowsy driver condition of the vehicle and responding to the drowsy driver condition via onboard warning, corrective actuation, or remote human interventions.04-09-2009

20090135889METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CODE REUSE AND CAPACITY ENHANCEMENT USING NULL STEERING - The number of users and data capacity of wireless systems are increased by employing apparatus and method for increasing the number of spreading codes available in the system by providing a mechanism to reuse the already allocated spreading code or use the codes that may correlate to those already being used within the same sector/cell. This, in return, provides capacity improvement proportional to the number of added base station (BS) antennas for each cell. An antenna null steering technique for code allocation maintains the cross correlation properties of the codes only for the desired user and to obtain a gain in capacity improvement.05-28-2009

20080253346MAC ARCHITECTURE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS SUPPORTING H-ARQ - A medium access control-high speed (MAC-hs) comprises a hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) device configured to receive data blocks over a wideband-code division multiple access (W-CDMA) high speed-downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH). The H-ARQ device generates an acknowledgement (ACK) or negative acknowledgement (NYACK) for each said data block received. Each received data block having a transmission sequence number. The H-ARQ device receives a new transmission instead of a pending retransmission at any time. At least one reordering device has an input configured to receive an output of the H-ARQ device and the at least one reordering device configured to reorder the received data blocks based on each received data block's transmission sequence number (TSN). Received data blocks are immediately forwarded for processing for higher layers when the received data blocks are received in sequence.10-16-2008
20080273469METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROVIDING BIASING CRITERIA FOR BINARY DECISIONS FOR USE IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS TO ENHANCE PROTECTION - A criterion for biasing a binary decision requiring an unequal protection which utilizes a measured signal to interference ratio (SIR). The SIR may be derived from a determination of channel estimation. The SIR is compared against a threshold, the threshold being selected to bias the decision toward a not acknowledge (NACK) as opposed to an acknowledge (ACK) determination. The technique is advantageous for providing biased binary decisions for high speed downlink packets (HSDP) but may be utilized for both uplink and downlink applications.11-06-2008
20090094503FAST H-ARQ ACKNOWLEDGEMENT GENERATION METHOD USING A STOPPING RULE FOR TURBO DECODING - A stopping rule for Turbo decoding that is applied for both good and bad code blocks is disclosed. If the iteration either converges or diverges, decoding is terminated. In an alternative embodiment, the result of the stopping rule testing may be used for H-ARQ acknowledgement generation: if the iteration converges, an ACK is generated and if the iteration diverges, a NACK is generated. Optionally, the maximum number of decoding iterations may be dynamically selected based on MCS levels.04-09-2009
20090219907USER EQUIPMENT IDENTIFICATION SPECIFIC SCRAMBLING - A base station for use in a code division multiple access communication system comprises circuitry configured to process a user equipment identification (UE ID) by ½ rate convolutionally encoding the UE ID to produce a code. The code is used by the base station for scrambling a high speed shared control channel (HS-SCCH). The base station is configured to transmit a wireless signal. The wireless signal provides the user equipment with payload data carried on a high speed physical downlink shared channel (HS-PDSCH). The HS-PDSCH is associated with the HS-SCCH.09-03-2009
20100318886METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PROCESSING A DOWNLINK SHARED CHANNEL - A method and apparatus is disclosed wherein a user equipment (UE) receives control information on a first channel and uses the control information to process a second channel.12-16-2010
