Intracorporeal Grasping Device - An intracorporeal grasping device includes a tubular member for entering a lumen of a human body and the tube member having a distal end portion. An elongated core member is disposed with the interior cavity of the tubular member for rotational or slidably movement within the tubular member and the elongated core member having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. The elongated core member comprises a uniform diameter tube having some flexibility at the proximal end portion and greater flexibility while along a longitudinal axis in a direction towards the distal end portion; and a grasping configuration is provided for capturing an object (e.g., clot or debris) therein and the assembly may have a proximal end secured to the distal end of the elongated core member. The configuration has an expanded and contracted configuration, and distal sections configured to grasp an object. The grasping configuration may be formed by at least one movable jaw attached to the distal end portion of the elongated core member and a length portion of the distal end portion of the tube member. The grasping configuration may include unitarily formed plurality of movable jaws attached to the distal end portion of the elongated core member. Further, the grasping configuration may be formed by a plurality of loop members attached to the distal end portion of the elongated core member. Further, the grasping configuration may be formed by at least one spiral member having a distal tip for penetrating an object to be removed from a human body lumen. The device has the spiral member provided at the distal end portion of the elongated core member. The grasping configuration can be formed by at least one web member for retaining an object to be removed from a human body lumen, the web member being provided at the distal end portion of the elongated core member. | 10-30-2008

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ATTACHING SOFT TISSUE TO BONE - Disclosed herein are methods and devices for securing soft tissue to a rigid material such as bone. A bone anchor is described that comprises a base and a top such that suture material may be compressed between surfaces on the base and top to secure the suture to the anchor. Also described is an inserter that can be used to insert the bone anchor into bone and move the anchor top relative to the anchor base to clamp suture material there between. Also described is a soft-tissue and bone piercing anchor and associated inserter. Methods are described that allow use of the bone anchors to provide multiple lengths of suture material to compress a large area of soft tissue against bone. | 12-24-2009

STRAIN TOLERANT CORROSION PROTECTING COATING AND TAPE METHOD OF APPLICATION - A corrosion resistant tape coating for gas turbine engine includes a glassy ceramic matrix wherein the glassy matrix is silica-based, and includes corrosion resistant particles selected from refractory particles and non-refractory MCrAlX particles, and combinations thereof. The corrosion resistant particles are substantially uniformly distributed within the matrix, and provide the coating with corrosion resistance. Importantly the coating of the present invention has a coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) greater than that of alumina at engine operating temperatures. The CTE of the coating is sufficiently close to the substrate material such that the coating does not spall after frequent engine cycling at temperatures above 1200° F. | 04-16-2009

VEHICULAR NAVIGATION SYSTEM FOR RECALLING PRESET MAP VIEWS - A vehicular navigation system includes a display, a memory configured to store data related to a plurality of preset map view, and a user input configured to permit the selection of a map view from the plurality of preset map views. A controller is coupled to the user input, the display, and the memory. The controller is configured to generate the selected map view on the display. | 04-30-2009
TIMESHIFTING FOR A MULTIPLE-TUNER VEHICLE RADIO SYSTEM - Methods and apparatus are provided for timeshifting audio content in a multiple tuner audio system comprising a first tuner and a second tuner. One operating method involves maintaining a first data storage element for the first tuner, maintaining a second data storage element for the second tuner, receiving first audio content in realtime by the first tuner, and storing data representing the first audio content in the first data storage element, resulting in first stored content. The method also receives second audio content in realtime by the second tuner, and stores data representing the second audio content in the second data storage element, resulting in second stored content. The method thereafter generates a timeshifted audio signal corresponding to the first stored content or the second stored content. | 06-04-2009
