20090007576Methods and Systems for a Torque-Based Air Conditioning Cut-Out Control - The present disclosure adjusts an air conditioner (A/C) compressor load responsive to the available torque to provide a compromise between A/C system and vehicle performance. The maximum available torque is monitored in real-time, and it is determined if there is enough torque to keep the A/C on for a fixed displacement compressor or how much the compressor displacement can be destroked through a current control for a variable displacement compressor. In an exemplary embodiment, an engine control unit (ECU) broadcasts the maximum available torque at a flywheel based on sensor readings and calculations. Accordingly, this broadcast enables a determination of whether there is enough torque available to maintain the A/C system in a controlled manner. Advantageously, the present disclosure avoids an abrupt turn-off or turn-on of the A/C system. Rather, the present disclosure maintains the A/C system in a controlled manner providing improved vehicle driveability.01-08-2009

20090081684DETECTION OF NEGATIVELY CHARGED POLYMERS USING WATER-SOLUBLE, CATIONIC, POLYTHIOPHENE DERIVATIVES - Novel methods allowing for the simple optical and electrochemical detection of double-stranded oligonucleotides are disclosed. The methods are rapid, selective and versatile. Advantageously, they do not require any chemical reaction on the probes or on the analytes since they are based on different electrostatic interactions between cationic poly(3-alkoxy-4-methylthiophene) derivatives and single-stranded or double-stranded (hybridized) oligonucleotides.03-26-2009

The methods are rapid, selective and versatile. Advantageously, they do not require any chemical reaction on the probes or on the analytes since they are based on different electrostatic interactions between cationic poly(3-alkoxy-4-methylthiophene) derivatives and single-stranded or double-stranded (hybridized) oligonucleotides.02-11-2010
20100233720BIOLOGICAL REAGENTS AND METHODS TO VERIFY THE EFFICIENCY OF SAMPLE PREPARATION AND NUCLEIC ACID AMPLIFICATION AND/OR DETECTION - This invention relates to reagent comprising: any one of cells, viral particles, organelles, parasites, cells comprising organelles, cells comprising viral particles, cells comprising parasites, cells comprising bacterial cells and any combination thereof, the cells, viral particles, organelles or parasites comprising at least one nucleic acid sequence serving as an internal control (IC) target for nucleic acid testing (NAT) assay; wherein the reagent is suitable to be added to a test sample undergoing sample preparation to release, concentrate and/or purify nucleic acids and amplification and/or detection of nucleic acids so as to be used to verify: (i) the efficiency of sample preparation; and (ii) the efficiency of nucleic acid amplification and/or detection. The present invention also relates to a method to verify or validate the preparation and amplification and/or detection of a nucleic acid target sequence in a sample spiked with a reagent of the present invention.09-16-2010
