20090192469 | Devices and Methods for Development of a Scar Tissue Tunnel Track - In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure, a device for assisting in development of a scar tissue tunnel track is described. The device comprises a base, a strap secured to the base, and a slide pivotally connected to the base. The base is configured to rest on a patient with the strap configured to extend around a portion of the patient to restrict movement of the base. The slide is configured to accommodate a needle and repeatably pivot to a position whereby the needle can be introduced in the patient at a repeatable angle. | 07-30-2009 |
20090198214 | Butterfly Needle Devices and Methods Relating Thereto - In accordance with one embodiment of the present disclosure, a butterfly needle device is described. The device comprises a needle having a proximal end and a distal tip, a base positioned over the needle, a first wing and a second wing each extending from the base and being configured to move between a generally abducted position and a generally adducted position, a spacer element extending from the first wing, a sleeve positioned over the needle, and a bridge element connecting the sleeve to the base. | 08-06-2009 |
20090299261 | Expandable Catheters and Methods Relating Thereto - In accordance with certain embodiments of the present disclosure, a catheter is provided. The catheter includes a body having a proximal portion and a distal portion. The body comprises a first element sealably interwoven with a second element to define a longitudinally extending lumen configured to pass fluid therethrough. The first element is wound in a clockwise direction and the second element is wound in a counterclockwise direction. The body further comprises a mechanism configured to cause the distal portion of the body to move toward the proximal portion causing the diameter of the lumen to increase. | 12-03-2009 |

20080263519 | Dynamic Configuration Files - A dynamic nature is added to configuration files so that various types of dynamic functions can be performed within them. Variables are utilized within the configuration files. Thus, it is possible to have parameters specified in one configuration file and a formula to which the parameters will be applied in another configuration file. This allows changing of the values in the parameter file without having to modify the formula file, thereby streamlining the modification process when changes need to be made. In addition, it provides the capability for cross-referencing between configuration properties by allowing for variables in properties that refer to other properties. | 10-23-2008 |

20090137055 | MEASURING NITROGEN OXIDES AND OTHER GASES BY OZONE FORMATION - A photochemical sensing system enables the measurement of nitrogen oxides (nitrogen dioxide and nitric oxide) by photolyzing nitrogen dioxide to form oxygen atoms which combine with oxygen molecules to form ozone. Ozone reacts with nitric oxide to for nitrogen dioxide-decreasing ozone. Changes in ozone concentration are measured as a surrogate for the nitrogen dioxide and nitric oxide. Any species which photolyzes to yield oxygen atoms may be measured by this technique. Additional specificity for nitrogen oxides is conferred by allowing the nitric oxide to react with the ozone to recreate the nitrogen dioxide. By periodically photolyzing the nitrogen dioxide (to form ozone), and then allowing the resulting nitric oxide to react with the ozone (thereby reducing ozone), a pulsed signal is obtained whose amplitude is proportional to the total amount of nitrogen dioxide and nitric oxide present. Medical applications include measuring nitric oxide concentrations in expired air samples. | 05-28-2009 |
