20110054208METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTINUOUS FLOW SYNTHESIS OF IBUPROFEN - A multi-step method for the continuous synthesis of ibuprofen or a synthetic precursor of ibuprofen is provided that does not require any intermediate purification or isolation steps and uses reagents compatible with downstream reactions. According to some embodiments, a method is provided wherein isobutylbenzene and a propionyl compound may be converted into a first product in a first Friedel Crafts acylation reaction. The first product may then be converted into a second product in a 1,2-aryl migration reaction. Finally, the second product may be converted into ibuprofen in a hydrolysis reaction. The present invention also provides a method wherein only the first and second reaction steps or only the second and third reaction steps are performed. An apparatus is also provided having two or more microreactors and two or more junctions in particular arrangements for the synthesis of ibuprofen or a synthetic precursor of ibuprofen.03-03-2011

20110225543USER INTERFACE WITH PREVIEW TRANSITIONS - A user interface is described that temporarily displays portions of a page that reside outside of the viewable area of the screen. An animated transition creates a brief preview of at least one user interface feature. Additionally, the user interface feature is then animated out of the viewable area in a way to suggest a location of the feature. In one embodiment, a target page that is being opened controls the transition and animates features into and out of the viewable area to create the temporary preview. In another embodiment, the target page includes user interface elements that can asynchronously control the preview animation independent from the main content of the target page. In yet another embodiment, a transition coordinator can coordinate the timing between animating out a foreground application while animating in a target application.09-15-2011

20090124345METHOD, APPARATUS, AND PROGRAM PRODUCT FOR PRODUCING AND APPLYING A GRAPHIC SIMULATION ACROSS MULTIPLE GAMING MACHINES - An apparatus for producing shared image games includes a number of gaming machines, with each gaming machine having a respective video display device. The apparatus also includes a shared image display control arrangement and a shared image prize controller. The shared image display control arrangement controls the respective video display device associated with each gaming machine in the number of gaming machines to produce a shared image graphic effect such as a multi-segmented prize reel that appears to extend across the different video display devices. The shared image prize controller operates to award a shared image prize for at least one of the gaming machines. This shared image prize corresponds to a prize represented at least in part by a respective one of the reel segments displayed at the video display device of the respective gaming machine when the reel segments appear to come to a stop. For example, a given reel segment may show a prize value that is awarded to the player at the particular gaming machine, or may show a multiplier value that is applied to some value accumulated for the player at the particular gaming machine.05-14-2009

20110054990METHODS, SYSTEMS, AND COMPUTER PROGRAM PRODUCTS FOR MOBILE NETWORK SUBSCRIBER INCENTIVE PROGRAMS - A number of reward programs can be offered to subscribers of a mobile network as an incentive to use fewer allocated resources, rather than more. For example, in some embodiments, a subscriber may elect to participate in a reward program wherein a portion of the unused resources are used to determine a monetary amount to be returned to the subscriber at, for example, the end of a year. In some embodiments, a subscriber may elect to participate in a reward program wherein a portion of the unused resources (such as unused minutes under their plan) are used to offset the costs of “green programs”, which may be implemented by the operator of the network. In other words, the subscribers can be encouraged to use fewer resources by allowing a portion of those unused resources (in the form of, for example, cash) to offset the cost of a program, which the subscriber believes provides some benefit. The reward programs offered may recognize any societal issue.03-03-2011
