20110184545DEVICE AND METHOD FOR FORMULATING A NUMERICAL MODEL OF A MANUFACTURED PRODUCT - A device and associated method for formulating, via an information technology device having a user interface, a numerical model of manufactured products, the numerical model including components, variables and constraints executes different steps successively. Each step stores, via the information technology device, the predetermined numerical data in order to construct the numerical model in memory. The numerical model may then be used to create a configuration of the manufactured product by making, via a user interface, choices among the structural, technical, manufacturing, and commercial characteristics of the numerical model of the manufactured product.07-28-2011

20110148153AUTOMOBILE BODY INCLUDING A BEARING FOR A BUMPER-FORMING MEMBER AND AN AIR INTAKE DUCT TO THE ENGINE - An automobile body for receiving a bumper-forming member and including: a front crossbar; a pair of bearings for the bumper-forming member; and an air intake duct into the engine, the duct including an open end through which the outside air enters the duct. One of the bearings includes a protection portion of the open end, wherein the protection portion is provided in close proximity to the open end, covers the open end, and extends along a portion of the duct, while a gap is provided between the protection portion and the duct so that the air can flow into the duct through the open end.06-23-2011

20090062911MULTIZONAL LENS WITH EXTENDED DEPTH OF FOCUS - An intraocular lens for providing enhanced vision includes an optic with a clear aperture over which light may be focused onto or near the retina of an eye. The optic includes an anterior surface and an opposing posterior surface, the surfaces disposed about an optical axis. The optic includes a central zone and an outer zone disposed about the central zone. The central zone comprises a plurality of optical powers that progressively vary between a first optical power at a center of the central zone and a second optical power at a periphery of the central zone, wherein the absolute value of the difference between the first optical power and the second optical power being between predetermined values. The outer zone comprises a third optical power and may also have a negative spherical aberration. The optic typically has a variation in optical power over the entire clear aperture that is less than a predetermined amount.03-05-2009
20090076603PARTIAL COATING OF INTRAOCULAR LENSES USING ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE CHEMCIAL VAPOR DEPOSITION - An atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition apparatus has been developed for partially coating acrylic based intraocular lenses. In one embodiment intraocular lenses may be coated with a hydrophilic material comprising silicone dioxide and polyethylene glycol. In another embodiment the haptics may be coated with hydrophilic material, which aids in the post implantation unfolding of the lenses while not diminishing posterior bag adhesion of the hydrophobic surface of the untreated optic portion.03-19-2009
20090292293PLUNGERS FOR INTRAOCULAR LENS INJECTORS - An intraocular lens (IOL) injector for delivering an IOL into an eye of a patient. The injector includes an IOL load chamber and connected delivery tube, and a push rod for urging the IOL through the delivery tube and out of a distal tip thereof. The push rod is guided and biased against one side of the injector load chamber. The injector may include an inflatable pusher for urging the IOL through the delivery tube and out of a distal tip thereof. The inflatable pusher has a proximal end that may be open to an internal cavity of the injector, wherein a plunger movable in the injector cavity forces fluid such as air or saline into the pusher. A distal end of the pusher may be forked to capture a trailing end of the IOL, or may have a bulbous configuration to ensure the pusher does not pass the IOL.11-26-2009
20100057202MULTIZONAL LENS WITH EXTENDED DEPTH OF FOCUS - An intraocular lens for providing enhanced vision includes an optic having a clear aperture having an outer diameter. The optic has opposing first and second surfaces disposed about an optical axis, the first surface including a cross-sectional profile. The optic further includes central and outer zones that fill the entire clear aperture of the optic. The central zone is disposed about the optical axis having an outer diameter, the profile in the vicinity of the central zone having a constant radius of curvature or a radius of curvature that increases with increasing radius from the optical axis. The outer zone is disposed about the central zone, the profile in the outer zone having a base curvature with a base radius of curvature and a center of curvature, the profile in the outer zone characterized in that, as the distance from the optical axis increases, the distance from the center of curvature of the base curvature also increases. The central zone and the outer zone.03-04-2010
20100249691GLAUCOMA SHUNTS WITH FLOW MANAGEMENT AND IMPROVED SURGICAL PERFORMANCE - A method of treating glaucoma in an eye by managing fluid flow past an implanted shunt having an elastomeric plate and a non-valved elastomeric drainage tube. The plate is positioned over a sclera of the eye with an outflow end of the elastomeric drainage tube open to an outer face of the plate. An inflow end of the drainage tube tunnels through the sclera to the anterior chamber of the eye. The plate may have regions of greater propensity for cell adhesion alternating with regions of lesser cell adhesion. For example, regions of texturing around the plate or drainage tube may be provided to control the size of a bleb that forms over the implant. The effective surface area of the plate may be balanced against a number of fenestrations. The drainage tube has a reduced profile and may be shaped with a non-circular external cross-section to reduce its height. A scleral groove may be used to further reduce the height of the drainage tube on the sclera. A flow restrictor for the early post operative period will immediately lower the intraocular pressure (IOP) and simultanously prevent hypotony.09-30-2010
20110166652TORIC LENS WITH DECREASED SENSITIVITY TO CYLINDER POWER AND ROTATION AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME - A method, system and apparatus for vision correction are disclosed. The method, system and apparatus include a toric intraocular element for correcting astigmatism and having a cylinder power, and a depth of focus extender coupled to the toric intraocular element, the depth of focus extender extending a depth of focus. The extended depth of focus may reduce sensitivity of the toric intraocular element to at least one of rotation and selected cylinder power.07-07-2011
