BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH LINE REPLACEABLE MOTOR FEATURES - An aircraft brake system electromechanical actuator is provided. The actuator is configured with features that allow the electric motor to be a line replaceable unit. One such feature is a foreign-object-damage shield that inhibits dust, debris, and/or other particulate contaminants from entering the electromechanical actuator during electric motor removal and replacement. | 06-09-2011

ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR WITH GROUNDING MEMBER - An electrical connector that comprises a connector body that has opposite first and second ends. The first end is configured to be coupled with a prepared end of a cable. A coupling member that has an interface end configured to interface with a mating connector and an free end opposite the interface end that is rotatable with respect to the connector body at the second end of the connector body. A resilient grounding member is disposed between an outer surface of the second end of the connector body and the free end of the coupling member. Each of the connector body, the coupling member, and the resilient grounding member is conductive thereby creating a grounding path between the connector body and the coupling member. | 05-31-2012

SURFACE ANALYSIS APPARATUS AND METHOD - A method of identifying characteristics of a target, marking object comprising the steps of: providing a subject, marked article having a surface having markings caused by a marking surface of the target, marking object; obtaining a 3D dataset corresponding to a 3D virtual model of the surface of the subject, marked article by means of a sensor; extracting from dataset by means of a surface segmentation analysis data indicative of a class of the target, marking object and storing said data in the database; extracting from the dataset by means of a surface wavelet filtering operation data corresponding to one or more individual characteristics of the target, marking object and storing said data in the database. | 11-24-2011

RECEIVER OF BINARY OFFSET CARRIER (BOC) MODULATED SIGNALS - Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) is the agreed modulation for signals of next generation Global Navigation satellite systems (GNSS). Compared to current phase shift keying (PSK) modulation by a code, there is a further modulation by a sub-carrier. There is a known major difficulty with BOC called ‘false lock’ where early/late gates settle on the wrong peak of the multi-peaked correlation function. This invention eliminates the problem by eliminating that correlation. Instead, a two dimensional correlation is tracked independently to realise a dual estimate. An unambiguous lower accuracy estimate derived from the code phase is used to make an integer correction to a higher accuracy but ambiguous independent estimate based on the sub-carrier phase. The actual receiver may adopt a triple loop, instead of the usual double loop, where carrier phase, sub-carrier phase and code phase are tracked independently but interactively. | 04-29-2010

SOURCE AFFINE RECONSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL IMAGING - Performing medical imaging. The generation of medical images, which includes a Source AFFine Image REconstruction (SAFFIRE) algorithm, is based on an iterative implementation of minimum mean-square error (MMSE) estimation within an affine-transformed solution space and utilizes a matched filter bank initialization coupled with energy normalization of each successive estimate. An incoherent integration technique provides an alternative implementation strategy to either increase signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) or generalize the estimator to accommodate temporally-separated interference sources. In addition, the estimator solution may be employed to determine volumetric constraints with which to re-apply the estimator to further improve the estimation accuracy. | 07-16-2009
