20090324852Systems and methods for forming components with thermal barrier coatings - Systems and methods for forming components with thermal barrier coatings are provided. In this regard, a representative method includes: providing a component having a first side and an opposing second side; and using a preformed mask to obstruct vapors from being deposited on the second side of the component while moving the component relative to the vapors such that the vapors form a thermal barrier coating on the first side of the component.12-31-2009
20100304037Thermal Barrier Coatings and Application Methods - A gas turbine engine component has a metallic substrate. A coating is on the substrate. A barrier coat is applied while varying a speed of the component rotation so as to provide a corresponding microstructure to the barrier coat.12-02-2010
20110186258FORMING A CAST COMPONENT WITH AGITATION - A method of forming a cast component includes at least partially surrounding an investment mold in a heat-insulating packing material, feeding a molten alloy into the investment mold to provide a filled investment mold, and agitating the filled investment mold while solidifying the molten alloy.08-04-2011

20110200908FUEL CELL SUPPORT STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF ASSEMBLY/DISASSEMBLY THEREOF - A fuel cell installation includes a support structure and a cell stack assembly that is removably insertable into the support structure from an uninstalled position to an installed position during an installation procedure. The cell stack assembly includes a fitting. An interfacing structure is mounted on one of the support structure in the cell stack assembly. The interfacing structure carries a connector that is configured to receive the fitting in interconnected relationship. At least one of the fitting and the connector floats in a plane relative to the support structure during the installation procedure. In operation, the fitting engages the connector when the cell stack assembly is inserted into the support structure. The fitting is repositioned relative to the connector to ensure that the fitting and connector are aligned with one another and connected upon installation.08-18-2011
