20100031954HEAT STORAGE AND TRANSFER SYSTEM - A heat storage and transfer apparatus includes a storage tank, a condenser coil, a solar heat collector, and an evaporator coil. A pump circulates a heat transfer liquid between the condenser coil and the solar heat collector. The solar heat collector raises the temperature of the heat transfer liquid. The condenser coil within the storage tank conducts heat from the transfer liquid and the heat is then absorbed by the thermal media inside the storage tank. Water passes through the evaporator coil and conducts heat from the thermal media, thereby heating the water.02-11-2010

If some heat is available from solar heating, then the solar heat is used for pre-heating so the conventional heating system does not have to perform as much work. If there is enough heat available from solar heating to provide all of the heat that is needed, then operation of the conventional heating system is locked out.02-24-2011
20110041835SOLAR HEAT EXCHANGER - A solar heat exchanger assists an air-to-air heat pump by introducing warm solar solution into thermal contact with the saturated vapor, thereby enabling the refrigerant to extract more heat at low ambient temperatures. 20110254502FAULT-TOLERANT BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, CIRCUITS AND METHODS - A fault tolerant battery management system includes redundancy, with applications including electric vehicles. Portions of its circuitry are constituted in distinct fault domains with control, monitoring, and balancing of cells circuitry fault-effect-isolated from the circuitry associated with built-in real-time testing. Built-in tests are orchestrated in fault domains isolated from the functional circuitry being verified. These built-in tests provide test stimulus unique for each cell measurement. Cell balancing is performed in a fault tolerant manner. It takes at least two independent faults, in two mutually distinct fault domains, to negatively affect balancing capability or to interfere with a redundant circuit's ability to operate. The built-in tests allow operation without the requirement for data cross-compare between redundant measuring electronic elements. Testing and balancing functions are interlocked through encoded enabling methodologies and transmit enables on serial buses. The circuitry is divided into mutually fault-isolated modules, each responsible for a subset of the cells.10-20-2011
