20110157435Generating column offset corrections for image sensors - An image sensor includes multiple photoactive pixels and multiple dark reference pixels arranged in rows and columns to form a pixel array. A dark signal is read out of one or more dark reference pixels in each column and used to determine a column offset for one or more columns in the pixel array. An offset window is used for each column in the pixel array to define an acceptable maximum dark signal and an acceptable minimum dark signal for each column. The dark signals from each column are analyzed to determine if there are any dark signals outside the offset window. If any of the dark signals are outside the offset window, the dark signal or signals can be compensated for or discarded.06-30-2011

20090106538System and Method for Implementing a Hardware-Supported Thread Assist Under Load Lookahead Mechanism for a Microprocessor - The present invention includes a system and method for implementing a hardware-supported thread assist under load lookahead mechanism for a microprocessor. According to an embodiment of the present invention, hardware thread-assist mode can be activated when one thread of the microprocessor is in a sleep mode. When load lookahead mode is activated, the fixed point unit copies the content of one or more architected facilities from an active thread to corresponding architected facilities in the first inactive thread. The load-store unit performs at least one speculative load in load lookahead mode and writes the results of the at least one speculative load to a duplicated architected facility in the first inactive thread.04-23-2009

20100161942INFORMATION HANDLING SYSTEM INCLUDING A PROCESSOR WITH A BIFURCATED ISSUE QUEUE - An information handling system includes a processor with a bifurcated unified issue queue that may perform unified issue queue VSU store instruction dependency operations. The bifurcated unified issue queue BUIQ maintains VSU store instructions in the form of internal operations data. The BUIQ includes a unified issue queue UIQ 06-24-2010
20100250901Selecting Fixed-Point Instructions to Issue on Load-Store Unit - Issue logic identifies a simple fixed point instruction, included in a unified payload, which is ready to issue. The simple fixed point instruction is a type of instruction that is executable by both a fixed point execution unit and a load-store execution unit. In turn, the issue logic determines that the unified payload does not include a load-store instruction that is ready to issue. As a result, the issue logic issues the simple fixed point instruction to the load-store execution unit in response to determining that the simple fixed point instruction is ready to issue and determining that the unified payload does not include a load-store instruction that is ready to issue.09-30-2010
20110185159PROCESSOR INCLUDING AGE TRACKING OF ISSUE QUEUE INSTRUCTIONS - An information handling system includes a processor with an instruction issue queue (IQ) that may perform age tracking operations. The issue queue IQ maintains or stores instructions that may issue out-of-order in an internal data store IDS. The IDS organizes instructions in a queue position (QPOS) addressing arrangement. An age matrix of the IQ maintains a record of relative instruction aging for those instructions within the IDS. The age matrix updates latches or other memory cell data to reflect the changes in IDS instruction ages during a dispatch operation into the IQ. During dispatch of one or more instructions, the age matrix may update only those latches that require data change to reflect changing IDS instruction ages. The age matrix employs row and column data and clock controls to individually update those latches requiring update. The issue queue may selectively clock a row and a column of cells of the age matrix that correspond to a dispatched instruction's queue position while leaving other cells unclocked to conserve power.07-28-2011

20100093851SILVER POLYAMIDE COMPOSITE - A polymer composite comprising a thermoplastic polyamide polymer compounded with an organo-disulfide additive and a silver-based antimicrobial agent is disclosed. The organo-disulfide additive inhibits undesirable discoloration of the thermoplastic polyamide polymer including one or more silver-based antimicrobial agent. Processes for preparing the composite are also disclosed, including compounding the organo-disulfide additive in a polymeric carrier with the silver-based antimicrobial agent, then with the thermoplastic polyamide polymer, or compounding the organo-disulfide additive with the thermoplastic polyamide polymer before adding the silver-based antimicrobial agent.04-15-2010
20100160486POLYOLEFIN ANTIMICROBIAL COMPOSITIONS AND MELT-PROCESSING METHODS - A melt-processed polyolefin composition or composite includes a polyolefin compounded with a hindered amine light stabilizer, an organodisulfide antioxidant, and silver sulfate as an antimicrobial agent. A process of preparing such a composite includes compounding all of the compounds in various orders as long as the silver sulfate is added after the hindered amine light stabilizer is added to the polymer.06-24-2010

20100124676MANAGING GAS BUBBLES IN A LIQUID FLOW SYSTEM - A system and method for managing gas bubbles in a liquid flow system are described. In particular, according to the system and method, novel techniques reduce a volume of cavities in the liquid flow system and limit a cross-sectional area of the liquid flow system to a maximum cross-sectional area of tolerably sized bubbles. In this manner, by reducing the cavity volumes and limiting cross-sectional areas, the formation of intolerably sized bubbles and the aggregation of tolerably sized bubbles into intolerably sized bubbles are each substantially prevented. Also, bubbles may be removed from the system to reduce the quantity of bubbles that are to be managed.05-20-2010
