20100241804METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR FAST RETRIEVAL OF RANDOM UNIVERSALLY UNIQUE IDENTIFIERS THROUGH CACHING AND PARALLEL REGENERATION - In general, the invention relates to a system that includes a UUID cache and a UUID caching mechanism. The UUID caching mechanism is configured to, using a first thread, monitor the number of UUIDs stored in the UUID cache, determine that the number of UUIDs stored in the UUID cache is less than a first threshold, request a first set of UUIDs from a UUID generator, receive the first set of UUIDs from the UUID generator, and store the first set of UUIDs received from the UUID generator in the UUID cache. The UUID caching mechanism is further configured to provide a second set of UUIDs to a first application using a second thread, where at least one of the UUIDs in the second set of UUIDs is from the first set of UUIDs, and where the first thread and the second thread execute concurrently.09-23-2010

20080219262Generic UDP multiplexing for voice over internet protocol (VOIP) - In one embodiment, data for a plurality of sessions is received. For example, a plurality of packets for voice data may be received from a plurality of end points. A destination for each of the connections is then determined. For example, the voice data may be destined for different gateways (and other end points). In some cases, the voice data for the sessions may be destined for the same destination. In this case, a plurality of packets is multiplexed into a multiplexed packet. The multiplexed packet includes a layer three network header. Also, each of the packets in the multiplexed packet includes a transport packet header. The multiplexed packet is then sent to the single destination. Each of the packets in the multiplexed packet can be extracted and processed as if a single one of the packets was received individually.09-11-2008
