20080287935SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PHOTOABLATION USING MULTIPLE FOCAL POINTS USING CYCLICAL PHASE MODULATION - A system and method for performing ophthalmic laser surgery requires directing a laser beam through a stationary beam splitter to create a pattern of multi-focal spots. Also, a beam scanner is used to move this pattern along a substantially spiral path in a target area of tissue. To compensate for cyclical changes in orientation of the pattern relative to its spiral path, a computer is used to phase modulate pattern movement. Specifically, this phase modulation is expressed as:11-20-2008

20110128500SYSTEM FOR CHARACTERIZING A CORNEA AND OBTAINING AN OPHTHALMIC LENS - A system for determining the shape of a cornea of an eye illuminates at least one of the interior surface, the posterior surface, and the interior region of the eye with infrared light of a wavelength that can generate fluorescent light from the portion of the cornea illuminated. The generated fluorescent light is then detected. A step of illuminating can comprise focusing the infrared light in a plurality of different planes substantially perpendicular to the optical axis of the eye. From the detected light it is possible to create a map of at least a portion of the interior surface, at least a portion of the posterior surface, and/or portion of the interior region of the cornea. Clarity of vision can be determined by generating autofluorescence from proteins in the pigment epithelial cells of the retina.06-02-2011

20110212205SYSTEM FOR FORMING AND MODIFYING LENSES AND LENSES FORMED THEREBY - A lens for placement in a human eye, such as intraocular lens, has at least some of its optical properties formed with a laser. The laser forms modified loci in the lens when the modified loci have a different refractive index than the refractive index of the material before modification. Different patterns of modified loci can provide selected dioptic power, toric adjustment, and/or aspheric adjustment provided. Preferably both the anterior and posterior surfaces of the lens are planar for ease of placement in the human eye.09-01-2011

20090328081Method and system for secure content hosting and distribution - A Validated Content Platform (VCP) is provided, which is makes it possible for anyone using the Internet to validate VCP hosted content for validity and authorized use. The system also features a Client Software for Subscribers with a VCP System Server Account to fetch validated content from the Account and publish it to any HTML compatible third party software or site with a single click. Content Providers can use the VCP solution to add validation functionality to their content, equip customers with an easy-to-use publishing solution and be confident about that content provided via the VCP is always validated when fetched from the VCP System Server and can always be checked for validity and authorized use by anyone accessing the content. The possibility of verifying authorized use and validity of digital content is a key factor in keeping the content's value. A validation functionality can makes it possible to determine whether a specific content is authentic and rightfully used or not.12-31-2009

20110153641SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REGULAR EXPRESSION MATCHING WITH MULTI-STRINGS AND INTERVALS - Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for matching a regular expression in an input string. A system configured to practice the method first identifies a number of substrings (k) in a regular expression of length (m). The system receives a stream of start states for each of the substrings generated according to a regular expression matching process and receives a stream of end occurrences generated according to a multi-string matching process. The system identifies all instances where an end occurrence of a particular substring matches a positive start state of the particular substring, and enters the instances as positive substring accept states in the regular expression matching process on the input string. In one aspect, the system is much more efficient when (k) is much less than (m). The system can match the regular expression based on a bit offset between the first and second stream.06-23-2011
