20080263155Collaborative Email With Delegable Authorities - Writing a collaborative email document with hierarchical authorities including establishing a collaborative email document on an administrator's computer, identifying one or more signatories for the document, identifying one or more collaborators who are authorized to view and edit the document, providing to the collaborators copies of the document for viewing and editing, where the collaborators' copies reside on collaborators' computers, updating the copies of the document on collaborators' computers with revisions from the collaborators, and sending the collaborative email document from the administrator's computer to addressees when the document bears valid digital signatures from all signatories. Typical embodiments also include providing at least one user authority to delegate signature authority, establishing a hierarchy of delegation authority for signatures, establishing at least one authority delegation policy including at least one rule for automated delegation of signature authority among signatories and delegating signature authority from at least one signatory to another.10-23-2008
20090006560Terminating An Application Message Subscription - Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for terminating an application message subscription that include: receiving, by messaging middleware of a subscribing client device, application messages having one or more message topics on one or more message streams from one or more message transmitting devices; receiving, by the messaging middleware from a stream administration server, a subscription termination message specifying a particular message topic for application messages that the subscription client device is no longer authorized to receive; and ceasing, by the messaging middleware, to provide the received application messages having the particular message topic to an application on the subscribing client device, including providing the received application messages having other message topics to the application.01-01-2009
20090201299Pack Avatar for Shared Inventory in a Virtual Universe - Generally speaking, systems, methods and media for providing a pack avatar for sharing inventory in a virtual universe are disclosed. Embodiments of a method may include receiving a request to create a pack avatar carrying one or more shared inventory items in a virtual universe and creating a pack avatar based on the received requests. Embodiments may include rendering the pack avatar in the virtual universe. Embodiments may also include, in response to receiving a request from a virtual universe user to borrow one or more shared inventory items carried by the pack avatar, accessing the one or more requested shared inventory items and rendering the one or more requested shared inventory items in the virtual universe. Further embodiments may include associating the pack avatar with a user and moving the pack avatar within the virtual universe.08-13-2009

20110128281USER-RESPONSIVE RENDERING OF A VIRTUAL UNIVERSE ENVIRONMENT - Methods, services, program products and devices are provided for user-defined configuration of a rendering of a virtual universe domain environment. A first user of a virtual universe domain environment selects or defines an artifact tag comprising rendering data and a protocol for applying the tag to an artifact of the virtual universe domain, the protocol comprising a compliance prerequisite for rendering the tag information to another second user of the virtual universe domain environment. A first user requesting application of a tag to an artifact item within the virtual universe domain, causes a setting or updating of a protocol compliance value. An avatar of another, second second user engaging the artifact item causes a virtual universe client of the engaging second user avatar to render the item to the second user in compliance with the tag rendering data if a set or updated compliance value meets a compliance prerequisite.06-02-2011

20080246584Locking digital pen - A locking digital pen system includes memory means which is available for storing user passwords for a plurality of users. When a user wishes to activate the digital pen, the user is enabled to use the digital pen to enter a password. After verification of the password, the pen is unlocked and the system associates the user with a matching digital signature certificate. When the user wishes to lock the pen, the user is enabled to actuate a button on the pen or provide an entry to a coupled computer to initiate a locking sequence. The system then disassociates the user from the digital signature certificates so the pen can no longer be used to digitally sign documents and the pen enters a locked state. In another embodiment, an authorized user may disable the unlocking function of the pen whereby the pen may not be unlocked by entry of a password but rather only when a special code is entered into the system.10-09-2008
20080308630USER-REQUIREMENT DRIVEN SHOPPING ASSISTANT - Device, method and system for providing shopping assistance information to customers using RFID tagged items in a store equipped with on-board or hand-held shopping cart RFID readers and display devices modified to have a personal product specification criteria data input interface.12-18-2008
20090028318LOCATION-BASED CALL ROUTING - A method and implementing computer system are provided in which users are enabled to create a database listing areas in which the user may be at any given moment and corresponding phone numbers to which calls directed to the user's phone number are re-routed if the user is in any of the designated areas when an incoming call is placed. In an exemplary embodiment, a global positioning system is implemented as a geographic locating device to determine the user's location at any time, and a routing server database is implemented and accessed to match the user's current location to one or more user-designated telephone numbers in an area proximate to the user's current location.01-29-2009

20100020222Image Capturing Device with Touch Screen for Adjusting Camera Settings - Several methods for operating a built-in digital camera of a portable, handheld electronic device are described. In one embodiment, the device receives a user selection (e.g., tap, tap and hold, gesture) of a region displayed on the display screen (e.g., touch sensitive screen). A touch to focus mode may then be initiated in response to the user selection and exposure and focus parameters determined and adjusted. Then, an automatic scene detection mechanism can determine whether a scene has changed. If the scene has changed, then the touch to focus mode ends and a default automatic focus mode initiates. This mode sets a new exposure metering area and focus area prior to determining and adjusting exposure and focus parameters, respectively.01-28-2010
20100309335IMAGE CAPTURING DEVICE HAVING CONTINUOUS IMAGE CAPTURE - Methods, devices, and systems for continuous image capturing are described herein. In one embodiment, a method includes continuously capturing a sequence of images with an image capturing device. The method may further include storing a predetermined number of the sequence of images in a buffer. The method may further include receiving a user request to capture an image. In response to the user request, the method may further include automatically selecting one of the buffered images based on an exposure time of one of the buffered images. The sequence of images is captured prior to or concurrently with receiving the user request.12-09-2010
