20120273472 | LASER PROCESSING SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BEAM DITHERING AND SKIVING - A laser processing system includes a first positioning system for imparting first relative movement of a beam path along a beam trajectory with respect to a workpiece, a processor for determining a second relative movement of the beam path along a plurality of dither rows, a second positioning system for imparting the second relative movement, and a laser source for emitting laser beam pulses. The system may compensate for changes in processing velocity to maintain dither rows at a predetermined angle. For example, the dither rows may remain perpendicular to the beam trajectory regardless of processing velocity. The processing velocity may be adjusted to process for an integral number of dither rows to complete a trench. A number of dither points in each row may be selected based on a width of the trench. Fluence may be normalized by adjusting for changes to processing velocity and trench width. | 11-01-2012 |

20120235745 | VARIABLE GAIN AMPLIFIER - An apparatus and method are provided. Generally, an input signal is applied across a main path (through an input network) and across a cancellation path (through a cancellation circuit). The cancellation circuit subtracts a cancellation current from the main path as part of the control mechanism, where the magnitude of the cancellation current is based on a gain control signal (that has been linearized to follow a control voltage). | 09-20-2012 |

20150201958 | Cutting Devices and Methods - Cutting devices useful for cutting objects or materials are described. Examples of cutting devices useful for creating avulsions in animals, such as human beings, are described. A cutting device includes an elongate main body having proximal and distal ends. A first portion of the main body has a cross-sectional shape that substantially lacks flat surfaces and a second portion of the main body has a cross-sectional shape having one, two or more flat surfaces. The distal end defines a hook having one or more sharpened edges disposed within the notch of the hook. Methods of making cutting devices are also described. | 07-23-2015 |
20150230947 | Tricuspid Regurgitation Model and Methods of Evaluating Intraluminal Medical Devices - Animal models useful in the evaluation of medical devices, such as intraluminal medical devices, including intraluminal valve prostheses, are described. An example animal model comprises an animal in which a chordae tendineae attached to at least one of the leaflets of the tricuspid valve has been cut during an interventional procedure. Methods of evaluating intraluminal medical devices are also described. An example methods comprises cutting chordae tendineae attached to a leaflet of a tricuspid valve of an animal; allowing the animal to recover from the step of cutting the chordae tendineae; implanting an intraluminal medical device at a target site within a body vessel of the animal; allowing the animal to recover from the step of implanting an intraluminal medical device; and monitoring in vivo performance of the intraluminal medical device. | 08-20-2015 |
