20120188334 | Generating 3D stereoscopic content from monoscopic video content - An automated method for producing 3D stereoscopic image pairs (left and right) from a single image source, such as a 2D video frame. The resulting 3D stereoscopic video content is then displayable as 3D content, e.g., on a compatible 3D display, or available for further processing. According to the method, and for each frame in a sequence, first and second luminosity maps are generated. The first luminosity map is applied to the frame to generate a first image of a stereoscopic pair, and the second luminosity map is applied to the frame to generate the second (corresponding) image of the stereoscopic pair. Each pixel in each frame is processed independently to generate the respective luminosity maps. | 07-26-2012 |
20120218393 | Generating 3D multi-view interweaved image(s) from stereoscopic pairs - An automatic method for producing 3D multi-view interweaved image(s) from a stereoscopic image pair source to be displayed via an auto-multiscopic display. The technique is optimized to allow its use as part of a real-time 3D video handling system. Preferably, the 3D interweaved image(s) are generated from a stereo pair where partial disparity is calculated between the pixels of the stereo images. The partial disparity information is then used at a sub-pixel level to produce a series of target (intermediary) views for the sub-pixel components at each image position (x, y). Then, these target views are used to generate a desired number of views resulting in glass-free 3D via an auto-multiscopic display. | 08-30-2012 |

20110306055 | Method for Detecting Metastasis of GI Cancer - The present invention provides a novel method for diagnosing, monitoring, prognosing and staging Lymph Node (LN) status in colorectal cancer (CRC) that is more sensitive and accurate than conventional detection technologies such as histopathology. The Guanylyl Cyclase C (GCC) gene is specifically expressed in apical epithelial cells of the GI tract from the duodenum to the rectum and the detection of GCC mRNA in LNs is indicative of the presence of metastases. Quantitative RT-PCR (RT-qPCR) detection of GCC mRNA to identify the presence of colorectal cancer (CRC) cells in LNs has the potential to aid in CRC staging. When used in combination with glucuronidase B (GUSB), accurate quantification of GCC can be achieved with less than a 2-fold variation between intact and highly degraded RNA specimens. The invention also relates to a newly designed GCC/GUSB assay that uses relative quantification having improved prognostic value for time to recurrence and relapse-free survival in Stage I or II colon cancer patients. The GCC/GUSB assay also improves the statistical power of prognosis stratification for relative risk of recurrence and relapse-free survival. | 12-15-2011 |
