20100308852SHIELDED ANTENNA FOR SYSTEM TEST OF A NON-CONTACT VOLTAGE DETECTOR - A system and method of conducting a full system test on a non-contact voltage detector while simultaneously shielding the voltage detector's antenna from stray electric fields is disclosed. When a user runs the self-test, an alternating current generator capacitively couples to the antenna through an antenna shielding to detect any breaks in the antenna. The coupled signal is amplified and filtered by the voltage detector's electronics, and triggers an indicator if the voltage detector is fully operative.12-09-2010

20100260380DEVICE FOR OPTICALLY MEASURING AND/OR TESTING OBLONG PRODUCTS - A device for optically measuring and/or testing oblong products moving in a longitudinal direction. The device includes a plurality of cameras arranged in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and distributed around the longitudinal direction. Each of the cameras has a fixed focus. The device further includes a displacing device adapted to displace each of the cameras simultaneously and jointly over the same distance toward the surface of the oblong product to focus on the oblong product, wherein the device defines a center that is located in the plane.10-14-2010

20080317200Method and System for Low Radiation Computed Tomography - A method for single photon counting transmission computed tomography (CT) is described. The method is based on an apparatus consisting of a radiation source and detectors on an opposite side of the subject from the source. The radiation source is for example an X-ray tube. The detectors are independently connected to parallel, fast, low-noise processing electronics capable of recording and counting individual X-ray photons at very high rate. In one embodiment of the invention, said detector is made of a scintillator coupled to a photodetector. The photodetector can be an avalanche photodiode (APD). The method comprises the steps of: directing the low energy radiation source toward the subject; detecting the radiation transmitted through the subject towards the detectors and recording the position and energy of each individual X-ray photon; rotating the radiation source and detectors around the subject; recording data for each position of the radiation source and detectors around the subject to form projections; and creating a CT image from the recorded projection data. The proposed method allows enhancing CT image contrast and reducing radiation dose to the patient by counting individual X-ray photons.12-25-2008
