20090067241DATA PROTECTION FOR WRITE ABORT - A portion of a nonvolatile memory array that is likely to contain, partially programmed data may be identified from a high sensitivity read, by applying stricter than usual ECC requirements, or using pointers to programmed sectors. The last programmed data may be treated as likely to be partially programmed data. Data in the identified portion may be copied to another location, or left where it is with an indicator to prohibit further programming to the same cells. To avoid compromising previously stored data during subsequent programming, previously stored data may be backed up. Backing up may be done selectively, for example, only for nonsequential data, or only when the previously stored data contains an earlier version of data being programmed. If a backup copy already exists, another backup copy is not created. Sequential commands are treated as a single command if received within a predetermined time period.03-12-2009

20110161560ERASE COMMAND CACHING TO IMPROVE ERASE PERFORMANCE ON FLASH MEMORY - Systems and methods are disclosed to reduce the number of partial logical groups that are erased by writing erase patterns to memory in a non-volatile memory system. When a non-aligned erase command is received, the logical addresses of data associated with the erase command may be marked as erased. If the logical group corresponds to the size of a physical metablock, the controller may also issue a physical erase command for complete logical groups within the erase command. For those parts of the erase command that encompass only partial logical groups, the ranges of the logical block addresses marked for erasure are stored. As subsequent erase commands are received the address ranges of the erase commands are added to the previously stored address ranges. When a set of erase commands spans an entire logical group, the logical group is marked for physical erasure in its entirety.06-30-2011

20080286726MOTION SIMULATOR AND METHOD - A method, apparatus and system of a motion simulator is disclosed. In one embodiment, a motion simulator not resorting to conventional principles nor employing any fluid or pneumatic components to derive motion with 6 degrees of freedom. Motion derived from bi-directional low voltage motors controlled through a Human Computer Interface Device is described which achieves 120 degrees of “Pitch & Roll” through rotation of ball screws acting through “spherical ball joints”. “Yaw”, “Rising and Descending” independently achieved through “rack and pinions” acting upon the central spherical pivot and rotational plates. The lower “spherical ball joints” firmly securing the ball screw's bearings, motor and coupling, the upper spherical ball joints mounted on slide-able bearing plates which encase the ball nut. The above providing proportionality between two sets of (ball screws) linear actuators. Rotation induced into the “spherical ball-joint” opposed to the direction of motor and screw is overcome by employing a “hardening peg”, “bearing” and “track” sunk into a surface of the “spherical ball-joint”.11-20-2008

20080221850Effective current density and continuum models for conducting networks - An Effective Current Density (ECD) method for continuum representation of conducting networks is disclosed. ECD is a method for representing large numbers of conductors in a single, compact model for use in circuit simulation and in other such applications. The models created through the application of ECD are continuum models, valid in both long and short wavelength limits, with the important property that the computation time does not grow with the number of wires in the network. Therefore, in circuits where the method can be applied, there is no limit to the number of conducting wires or components in the network to be simulated. Circuits with an unlimited number of conductors can be simulated using modest computing hardware and at an approximately constant order of simulation complexity.09-11-2008

20100176931IDENTIFYING A PLURALITY OF DEVICES - A method and apparatus of identifying a plurality of devices connected along a common communications link is disclosed. A control station scans the devices by sending a succession of interrogation signals along the communication link, the interrogation signals comprising a representation of the identification numbers of the devices. A first scan is carried out with interrogation signals identifying a first level of the range of identification numbers, and each device is programmed to generate, and to send to the control station, a response signal that comprises its complete identification number and a checksum, upon receipt of a scan signal applicable thereto. Successive scans are carried out by the control station, adding the next higher level of the range of identification numbers, wherein upon completion of a scan that does not give rise to invalid responses, the previously-paused scan is resumed.07-15-2010

20090033483Amplifier for Multi-Use of Single Environmental Sensor - A detection system in which a single sensor is employed to detect an extensive range of a parameter The output signal from the sensor is fed to the input of the electrical circuit, having a feedback loop, wherein the electrical circuit has a non-linear transfer characteristic. The non-linear transfer characteristic is achieved by changing the behaviour of the feedback loop of the electrical circuit at a predetermined level of input signal. The output of the circuit has a proportional relationship with the input until the input signal reaches this predetermined value, whereupon the behaviour of the feedback loop changes and the relationship of the output to the input of the circuit changes. While the input signal is above the predetermined value, the output of the circuit has a linear but disproportionate relationship with the input at a gradient different to that when the input signal is below the predetermined value. Further, the behaviour of the feedback loop changes to create a knee point in the response between the proportional and the linear parts of the characteristic. In this way, an overall non-linear transfer characteristic is produced by the electrical circuit, the transfer characteristic having with a well-defined knee point. The resolution of input signals below the knee point may be greater than the resolution of signals above the knee point.02-05-2009
