20090062778Medical System Comprising Dual-Purpose Communication Means - The present invention relates to secure paring of electronically controlled devices adapted to communicate with each other. Thus, a medical system is provided comprising a first unit and a second unit, the system comprising first means of communication allowing a first group of data types to be transmitted between the first unit and the second unit, the first unit comprising an acoustic transducer having a transducer coil with a plurality of windings, the transducer coil serving as an antenna for wireless signals transmitted between the first and second units. In this way a “par-=asite” property of the acoustic transducer can be used, i.e. using the coil as a receiving means, thereby replacing a receiving structure, e.g. a separate receiver coil or an antenna, which would otherwise have to be provided, this reducing manufacturing costs.03-05-2009
20090069868Secure Pairing of Electronic Devices using Dual Means of Communication - The present invention relates to secure paring of electronically controlled devices adapted to communicate with each other. Thus, a medical system is provided comprising a first unit and a second unit, the system comprising first means of communication allowing a first group of data types to be transmitted between the first unit and the second unit, and second means of communication allowing a second group of data types to be transmitted between the first unit and the second unit. In this way different properties of the two means of communication can be used to secure that certain data, e.g. during pairing of the two devices, can be transmitted in a more controlled way whereas other data can be transmitted in a less controlled way.03-12-2009
20100030092Adaptive Hypoglycaemia Alert System and Method - The onset or presence of a hypoglycaemic condition in a living being is estimated by obtaining ECG signals, which are processed together with secondary input, such as skin impedance, information about a condition of the living being, or blood glucose level, to estimate whether the living being is experiencing or approaching a hypoglycaemic condition. An output alert may be generated. Feedback indicative of a possible misestimate of the onset or presence of the hypoglycaemic condition is received to allow a system incorporating the invention to adapt and personalize to a specific living being. The feedback may influence one or more sensitivity or specificity settings. Settings of the system may be influenced by the location or rate of movement of the living being.02-04-2010
20100145262SAFETY SYSTEM FOR INSULIN DELIVERY ADVISORY ALGORITHMS - A closed loop control system for a medical drug delivery device logs historical data such as drug delivered and corresponding physiological parameters such as blood glucose level. On the basis of the logged historical data, the system calculates an estimated event forecast on which basis the system further calculates the necessary, prudent future drug delivery profile in order to counter delay in the closed loop. The estimated event forecast is presented to the user, the user is thereby given the possibility to accept, reject or adjust the event forecast and the corresponding drug delivery profile. Dynamic and adaptive safety limits to the drug delivery and the physiological parameter can be set by the user and will dynamically follow the drug delivery profile and the event forecast and will further optimize based on the learned behavioural pattern of the user. The user can set the safety level as a percentage of deviation to the drug delivery profile.06-10-2010

20110166524Actuator System Comprising Lever Mechanism - The invention provides a pump assembly comprising an actuator lever, a supporting structure, a pump comprising a pump member moveable by actuation of the actuator lever, and an actuator for moving the actuator lever. A first stationary pivoting joint is formed between the actuator lever and the supporting structure, and a second floating pivoting joint is formed between the actuator lever and the pump member allowing the pump member to float relative to the actuator lever, the floating pivoting point providing a constant-length actuator arm defined between the first pivoting joint and the second pivoting joint.07-07-2011

20100254911MULTIMODAL NANOPARTICLES FOR NON-INVASIVE BIO-IMAGING - Multimodal nanoparticles are nanoparticles containing contrast agents for PAT and one or more of luminescence imaging, x-ray imaging, and/or MRI. The multimodal nanoparticles can have a dielectric core comprising an oxide with a metal coating on the core. The particles can be metal speckled. The multimodal nanoparticles can be used for therapeutic purposes such as ablation of tumors or by neutron capture in addition to use as contrast agents for imaging.10-07-2010

20100283637Cloud Image Replacement for Terrain Display - A method and apparatus for displaying an image of terrain obtained from a position above the terrain. An image of an object is detected in the image of the terrain for an object that is positioned between the terrain and the position above the terrain. The detected image of the object is replaced in the image of the terrain with replacement image data. For example, the replacement image data may be image data for the terrain below the object. The image of the terrain with the replacement image data may be displayed. The method and apparatus may be used to replace images of clouds in images of the surface of the earth below an aircraft with image data for the surface of the earth below the clouds.11-11-2010

20110135104MODULAR WIRELESS AUDITORY TEST INSTRUMENT WITH INTELLIGENT TRANSDUCERS - A method and apparatus for performing various auditory tests utilizing a hand-held, portable, wireless testing device is provided. Within the device is a diagnostic subsystem used to implement and analyze selected tests. Attached to the device, either directly or via a flexible cable, are one or more probes. A processor, storage means, input means and display means are included, thus allowing the device to process and store instructions as well as process, store and display data. A wireless networking subsystem is included, enabling the device to communicate with other, similarly enabled, systems and devices within the device's communication range. Due to the inclusion of the wireless networking subsystem, the device can be configured to allow the user to transmit and/or print data, connect to a network, obtain device configuration updates, and send and receive patient and office updates.06-09-2011
