20080229646FISHING POLE GRIP - In various embodiments, a fishing pole includes a rod having a proximal end and a distal end, where the proximal end receives a grip and the distal end includes at least one line guide for receiving a fishing line. The grip of certain embodiments includes a flexible mounting tube that engages the proximal end of the rod and a sheet including a polymer outside layer and a fibrous inside layer. In some embodiments, the sheet has a configuration corresponding to the exterior shape of the flexible mounting tube, being wrapped about and adhered to the mounting tube, with the side edges of the sheet abutting one another to define a substantially longitudinal seam extending from the interior surface of the sheet to the exterior surface of the polymer layer. In some embodiments, the grip includes a tube and a strip that is spirally wrapped around the tube to form a substantially helical seam.09-25-2008
20080230174GRIP HAVING A STABILIZED GRIPPING SURFACE - The disclosure herein includes a grip for a golf club with a flexible tube and a layered sheet. The tube includes a tubular body and raised portions extending from the tubular body. The outer surface of the raised portions cooperates with the layered sheet to form a gripping surface. The grip reduces impact shock and provides a feeling of tackiness while providing increased variation in the physical characteristics of the gripping surface.09-25-2008
20080283178METHOD OF MAKING AN ALL-WEATHER GRIP - A slip-resistant shock absorbing golf club grip that includes a felt layer, a fabric mesh formed of fibers and a polyurethane coating covering the mesh and felt, the fibers of the mesh defining grooves in the surface of the slip-resistant polyurethane which are engaged by a users' hands, with the polyurethane coating being buffed to partially expose the fibers.11-20-2008
20090025852DECORATIVE GOLF CLUB GRIP - A grip for the handle of a golf club having at least a polymerized region with two or more polymers. The first and second polymers cooperate to form a pattern on the top surface of the region. The region may be combined with a substrate to form a sheet. The sheet may be formed into a grip interface having any of a number of shapes including a panel shape. In the case of a panel shaped grip interface, the panel is then attached to an underlisting sleeve to form the grip. The grip reduces impact shock and provides a feeling of tackiness in the manner of a spirally wrapped polyurethane-felt grip while allowing the use of multiple colors being polymerized together. The grip may be easily installed onto a golf club shaft and further accommodates the use of polymers including various different characteristics including level of tackiness or durometer.01-29-2009
20090048036Grip Having A Varied Gripping Surface - The disclosure herein includes a grip for a golf club with a flexible tube and a layered sheet. The tube includes a tubular body and raised portions extending from the tubular body. The outer surface of the raised portions cooperates with the layered sheet to form a gripping surface. The grip reduces impact shock and provides a feeling of tackiness while providing increased variation in the physical characteristics of the gripping surface.02-19-2009
20090258721SINGLE PANEL GOLF CLUB GRIP - A grip for the handle of a golf club having a single panel that is wrapped about an underlisting sleeve comprising a cap. The panel further comprises an inner layer and an outermost layer, the inner layer comprising one of a fabric and a polymer. The panel is adhered to the underlisting sleeve such that the outermost layer in the top region contacts the underside portion of the cap. The unitary grip reduces impact shock and also provides a feeling of tackiness in the manner of a spirally wrapped grip.10-15-2009
20100022322PANEL GRIP WITH CUT-OUTS AND INSERTS - A grip for the handle of an article having at least a sheet with a cut-out and an insert. The insert is positioned within or against the cut-out of the sheet to define a panel. The panel is then attached to an underlisting sleeve. The grip allows the use of multiple color panels and inserts and the placement of various materials in various grip areas.01-28-2010
20100260987MULTI-LAYERED GRIP - Disclosed are grips and methods of making grips for use with the handle of an article, and in particular for use with fishing poles and golf clubs. The grip preferably includes a multi-layered gripping member and an inner sleeve or mounting body. The gripping member can include an outer layer with a fabric layer coated and preferably saturated by polyurethane. The outer layer can be bonded to an inner layer to form the gripping member which is then attached to the sleeve. The sleeve can be ground from a starting block of material or may be injection molded.10-14-2010
20100269626GRIP FOR THE HANDLE OF AN ARTICLE - Disclosed are grips and methods of making grips for use with the handle of an article, and in particular for use with bicycle handles. The grip preferably includes a multi-layered gripping member. The outer layer of the gripping member preferably includes a thin layer saturated by polyurethane. The outer layer of the gripping member can be attached to an inner base layer.10-28-2010
20100273568ULTRALIGHT GRIP FOR USE WITH GOLF CLUBS AND THE LIKE - Disclosed are grips and methods of making grips for use with the handle of an article, and in particular for use with golf clubs. The grip is preferably light weight and includes an ethylene vinyl acetate sleeve member and a gripping member attached thereto.10-28-2010
20100281754MULTI-LAYERED GRIP FOR USE WITH FISHING POLES - Disclosed are grips and methods of making grips for use with the handle of an article, and in particular for use with fishing poles. The grip preferably includes an ethylene vinyl acetate sleeve member and a gripping member having an outer layer and an inner layer. The inner layer of the gripping member is preferably ethylene vinyl acetate and is preferably bonded or adhered to the sleeve member.11-11-2010
