20100070319ADAPTIVE CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM - An automated configuration management system (ACMS) oversees resources of a virtualized ecosystem by establishing a baseline configuration (including, e.g., security controls) for the resources; and, repeatedly, monitoring and collecting data from the resources, analyzing the data collected, making recommendations concerning configuration changes for the resources of the virtualized ecosystem based on the analysis, and either adopting and implementing the recommendations or not, wherein new states of the virtualized ecosystem and reactions to recommended changes are observed and applied in the form of new recommendations, and/or as adjustments to the baseline. The recommendations may be implemented automatically or only upon review by an administrator before being implemented or not. The various data may be analyzed according to benchmarks established for security and compliance criteria of the resources of the virtualized ecosystem, for example static/pre-defined or dynamically derived benchmarks/best practices.03-18-2010
20100071035METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR SECURELY MANAGING VIRTUALIZATION PLATFORM - Virtualization platforms and management clients therefor are communicatively coupled to one another via a control layer logically disposed therebetween. The control layer is configured to proxy virtualization management commands from the management clients to the virtualization platforms, but only after successful authentication of users (which may include automated agents and processes) issuing those commands and privileges of those users as defined by access control information accessible to the control layer. The control layer may be instantiated as an application running on a physical appliance logically interposed between the virtualization platforms and management clients, or a software package running on dedicated hardware logically interposed between the virtualization platforms and management clients, or as an application encapsulated in a virtual machine running on a compatible virtualization platform logically interposed between the virtualization platforms and management clients.03-18-2010

20100039729PACKAGE WITH INTEGRATED MAGNETS FOR ELECTROMAGNETICALLY-ACTUATED PROBE-STORAGE DEVICE - A packaged memory device for storing information comprises a stack, a package lid, a first magnet structure fixedly connected to the package lid, a package body and a second magnet structure connected with the package body. The stack includes a tip substrate, a cap, and a media arranged between the tip substrate and cap and movable relative to the tip substrate. The tip substrate includes a plurality of tips extending from the tip substrate so that the tips can access the media. The first magnet structure includes a first magnet connected with a first flux plate. The second magnet structure includes a second magnet connected with a second flux plate. The second flux plate is integrated with the package body so that the second flux plate provides structural rigidity to the package body. The stack is connected to one or both of the package body and the second magnet.02-18-2010
20100271199Autonomous Sensing Module, a System and a Method of Long-Term Condition Monitoring of Structures - A system and a method of long-term condition monitoring of structures are based on use of autonomous sensing modules, centers for storing and processing data and software for data analysis. An autonomous sensing module contains a set of sensors for measurements of parameters related to the condition of a monitored structure, a non-volatile memory, a wireless data transfer unit, a controller, a clock circuit, a battery, an energy harvesting device and a power management unit. The autonomous sensing module provides a very long-term (40 years or more) functionality and reliability due to both use of at least near hermetic packages for the controller, the non-volatile memory, the battery, the clock circuit and the power management unit and choosing the duration of periods when the sensing module works in active mode in such a way that the average energy consumed by the autonomous sensing module is fully compensated by the average energy harvested by the energy harvesting device.10-28-2010
20100323467FORCE INPUT CONTROL DEVICE AND METHOD OF FABRICATION - Methods of fabricating 3-dimensional force input control devices are disclosed. These roughly comprise: providing a first substrate, fabricating stress-sensitive IC components and signal processing IC on a side one of the first substrate, fabricating one or more closed trenches on a side two of the first substrate within each die area, creating elastic element, frame area and rigid island, providing a second substrate, patterning a side two of the second substrate to define areas for deep etching, creating a layer of bonding material in local areas on at least one of the surfaces of the side one of the second substrate and the side two of the first substrate, aligning and bonding the side two of the first substrate with the side one of the second substrate, etching the second substrate from the side two through to the first substrate, dicing the two bonded substrates into multiple separate dice.12-23-2010

20110039575METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR POSITIONING NEIGHBOR CELLS IN A CELLULAR NETWORK USING LEARNED CELL DATA - A mobile device learns cell information for a serving cell and for neighbor cells. The learned cell information is communicated to a remote location server for locating base stations within the serving and/or neighbor cells. The learned cell information comprises cell signal strength information and/or other cell information such as cell identifiers (Cell-IDs) and Country Code (MCC). Received signal strength (RSS) on the serving cell and the neighbor cells are measured. Locations pertaining to the RSS measurements are determined. The mobile device location stamps the RSS measurements utilizing the determined locations to generate a neighbor cell report, which is utilized by a cellular communication network to prepare a handover operation whenever needed, and/or to build a local cell-learning database. A portion of the local cell-learning database is transmitted as cell data to the remote location server that collects cell data from a plurality of mobile devices.02-17-2011
