20090319927CHECKING DOCUMENT RULES AND PRESENTING CONTEXTUAL RESULTS - A document checking system is presented that provides an asynchronous scan of a document for errors and presents a rich user interface to the user that provides information about the error and how to fix it. While the user is accessing the document, the document checking system scans the document to identify one or more violations of a set of rules. The system locates a context within the document for each identified rule violation and determines one or more steps for remedying each rule violation. The system displays a report that includes the identified rule violations along with detailed information about the context of each rule violation and how to fix it.12-24-2009

20090124380PROVIDING SECRET INFORMATION IN A MULTIPLAYER GAME - A system and methods for conveying private information to a player in a multiplayer game being viewed by multiple players on a single screen. Each player is provided with a controller, which in one embodiment, includes a first input device and a second input device. The game system displays instructions on the screen prompting each player to select the first input device on the controller to ask a first question or select the second input device of the controller to ask a second question. Based on which input device each player selects, the game system displays an answer on the screen. The answers are viewable by all players. However, only each player knows what question they asked the game system to answer.05-14-2009

20090308821METHOD OF DISPLAYING MERCHANDISE FOR RETAIL SALE - A method of displaying merchandise which creates a more user friendly display that facilitates quicker and easier shopping for a consumer includes an arrangement of gift wrapping items in a section of a display fixture initially by size. The section includes a first display section for displaying items of a first average size, a second display section for displaying items of a second average size and a third display section for displaying items of a third average size. The display sections are adjacent one another and do not contain items that do not fall within the general size of the average display size. This arrangement by size quickly directs the consumer to a small subset of merchandise being displayed in a section that would meet the consumer's needs. A total number of price points may be reduced to at least partially correspond with the display sections. Sections may also be configured so that only items of a particular color and theme are displayed therein such that each section has an overall hue. Adjacent sections may then be configured to provide gradually darker hues. The consumer is then able to quickly narrow the search again by locating bags of an appropriate theme by the overall general color scheme of each section.12-17-2009

20090305785GESTURE CONTROLLED GAME SCREEN NAVIGATION - A game controller, such as a microphone controller, incorporates motion sensors that are configured to detect gestures performed by a user of the game controller. The gestures can be used to navigate and perform actions in a graphic user interface that a game console employs to provide a consistent user experience when navigating to different media types available on the game console. In this way, the game controller avoids the need to use a separate gamepad-type controller to navigate the graphic user interface, while also avoiding the need to incorporate additional buttons. As a result, the sense of realism and the overall gaming experience may be enhanced.12-10-2009
