20090068383Thermal Transfer Printing - A retransfer intermediate sheet for receiving an image to be printed onto an article by thermal retrasfer comprises a substrate which is preferably heat-deformable; and an image-receiving coating on one side of the substrate, comprising an image-receiving layer for receiving an image by printing, preferably inkjet printing, of dye-containing ink, the image-receiving layer comprising amorphous porous silica, a first, non-dye absorbing polymeric binder and a second, flexible polymeric binder. The sheet is particularly useful for printing on three dimensional articles, e.g. being heated and vacuum formed to conform to an article. The invention also coven a method of printing and an article bearing a printed image.03-12-2009
20100119739THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTING - A retransfer intermediate sheet for receiving an image to be printed onto an article by thermal retransfer comprises a substrate; and an image-receiving coating on one side of the substrate for receiving an image by printing of dye-containing ink, the coating comprising a fluid-absorbing layer and a superposed dye management layer comprising functionalised polyvinyl alcohol and/or an ionic polymer. The dye management layer functions to reduce back diffusion and to increase dye transfer efficiency, resulting in production of printed images of improved optical density. The sheet can be heat-deformable, and finds particular use in printing on 3D articles, e.g. being heated and vacuum formed to conform to an article. The invention also covers a method of printing and an article bearing a printed image.05-13-2010

20100123013THERMOSTATIC MIXING VALVE - A thermostatic mixing valve having a hot water inlet for connection to a supply of hot water, a cold water inlet for connection to a supply of cold water, an outlet for temperature controlled water and a valve device for controlling the relative proportions of hot and cold water admitted to a mixing chamber. The outlet communicates with the mixing chamber to receive temperature controlled water having a desired temperature. A temperature control adjusts the valve device in accordance with the desired temperature of the temperature controlled water where the valve device and the mixing chamber form flow passages for the incoming streams of hot and cold water and are configured such that the velocity of the incoming water streams is maintained and the incoming water streams are turned to flow in the same direction so that flow of one stream can entrain and assist flow of the other stream.05-20-2010

20100297994CONFIGURATION OF BASE STATION REPEATER - Configuring a cellular telecommunications network base station repeater for use at a particular location includes performing data collection activity at the location to obtain an indication of the transmit frequency of a nearby base station of the cellular telecommunications network. The repeater is then set to amplify received signals at that frequency. By only amplifying this particular frequency, the repeater can provide cellular telecommunications coverage at a location (for example a basement) where coverage might not otherwise be available by amplifying only the relevant frequency. This is in contrast to amplifying indiscriminately a wide range of frequencies, which can interfere with other radio transmissions.11-25-2010

20090170089METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR DIFFERENTIATING TISSUES OR CELL TYPES USING EPIGENETIC MARKERS - The present invention provides, inter alia, a method for generating a genome-wide epigenomic map, comprising a correlation between methylation variable CpG positions (MVP) and genomic DNA sample types. MVP are those CpG positions that show a variable quantitative level of methylation between sample types. Particular genomic regions of interest (ROI) provide preferred marker sequences that comprise multiple, and preferably proximate MVP, and that have novel utility for distinguishing sample types. The epigenic maps have broad utility, for example, in identifying sample types, or for distinguishing between and among sample types. In a preferred embodiment the epigenomic map is based on methylation variable regions (MVP) within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC), and has utility, for example, in identifying the cell or tissue source of a genomic DNA sample, or for distinguishing one or more particular cell or tissue types among other cell or tissue types. Analysis of epigenetic characteristics of one, or of a set of nucleic acid sequences, in the context of an inventive epigenomic map, allows for the determination of an origin of the nucleic acids.07-02-2009
20090191548METHODS AND NUCLEIC ACIDS FOR THE ANALYSIS OF GENE EXPRESSION ASSOCIATED WITH TISSUE CLASSIFICATION - The present application provides methods and nucleic acids the classification of a biological sample. This is achieved by the analysis of the expression status of at least one of the genes selected from Table 1 as disclosed.07-30-2009
