20110067694Patio Heater Double Dome Infrared Heat Reflector/Converter - A Patio Heater Double Dome Infrared Heat Reflector/Converter is disclosed. The patio heater dome attachment is attachable to a conventional patio heater so that the dome attachment covers the heater's heat shield, while maintaining an air gap therebetween. There are preferably standoff ridges or other features built into the dome attachment to maintain this air gap and to prevent air from flowing freely between the heat shield and the dome attachment. The dome attachment embodies a very low heat load so that very little heat conduction occurs between the heat shield and the dome attachment, such that more of the heater's energy is reflected towards the usage area. Finally, the perimeter edge of the dome attachment extends downwardly at least until it is essentially horizontally planar with the perimeter edge of the patio heater heat shield.03-24-2011
20110073095Patio Heater Side Heat Director - A Patio Heater Side Heat Director is disclosed. The patio heater side heat director attachment is attachable to a conventional patio heater so that the dome attachment hangs down from the heater's heat shield on one side. The side heat director is designed to reflect incident heat/energy on one side of the heater towards the opposing side of the heater. The side heat director defines two or more lobes that assist in focusing the energy reflected by the director. The side heat director is easily attached to a conventional patio heater, by clipping or crimping the heat director to the edge of the patio heater heat shield. Finally, the side heat director attachment has a very low thermal mass so that very little heat energy is retained by the side heat director attachment, such that the largest possible percentage of the heater energy is reflected towards the seating area.03-31-2011

20090256365Circuit insulation methods and systems for vehicle door latches - An injection molding method and system for an electrical circuit utilized in vehicle door latch mechanisms is disclosed herein. A mold is generally provided in which a mold cavity is formed therein from walls of the mold. An electrical circuit associated with vehicle door latch and/or integrated with the vehicle door latch can be located within the mold cavity. A plastics material can then be injection molded into the mold cavity of the mold, wherein the plastics material covers and seals the electrical circuit to provide insulation and environmental protection to the electrical circuit.10-15-2009

20100112902METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRECISION POLISHING OF OPTICAL COMPONENTS - A method of polishing objects using an apparatus comprised of a rotary positioning device comprising a turret; a base mounted on the turret; a drive wheel connected to a rotatable shaft, the drive wheel having a perimeter, and the rotatable shaft disposed in a housing. The polishing wheel assembly may include an elongated arm including a proximal end joined to the base, and a distal end; a rotatable polishing wheel supported at the end of the elongated arm; and a polishing belt comprising an inner surface and an outer surface, the inner surface engageable with the perimeters of the drive wheel and the polishing wheel. The method is comprised of contacting the outer surface of the polishing belt to a contact region of the surface of the object; and controlling the contact region by rotating the elongated arm around the turret axis.05-06-2010

20100251417PROTEIN PRODUCTION IN PLANTS - A method for synthesizing a protein of interest within a plant or a portion of a plant is provided. The method involves introducing one or more than one nucleic acid sequence encoding a protein of interest operatively linked with a regulatory region obtained from a photosynthetic gene that is active in the plant, in a transient manner. The plant is then maintained under conditions that permit the nucleic acid sequence encoding the protein of interest to be expressed in the plant or the portion of the plant. The plant may be pruned prior to the introducing one or more than one nucleic acid sequence.09-30-2010

20110141882SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING A COMPUTER STANDBY NODE - An apparatus for providing a computing environment in a computing system includes a first node, a second node, an operations server, and a communication link. The first node is capable of supporting a production computing environment and has a first disk storage. The second node is capable of supporting a second operational computing environment, independent of the production computing environment and has a second disk storage. The operations server manages the first and second node and can switch the production computing environment from the first node to the second node. The communications link allows communication between the first node, the second node, and the operations server. The second node can take over the production computing environment from the first node upon a failure of the first node by providing the second node with access to the first disk storage and rebooting the second node from the first disk storage. A method of switching a production computing environment from a first node, having a first disk storage, to a second node in the event of a failure on the first node includes determining if the first node had a failure and if the first node had a failure: reassigning ownership of the partition definition to the second node; restoring communications configuration on the second node; and booting the second node from the first disk storage.06-16-2011
