LOGICAL TRANSPORT RESOURCE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT - A method for managing data packets passing through an Ethernet node having multiple ingress ports and multiple egress ports, the ingress ports receiving the data packets from at least one service, and the egress ports configured with at least one Logical Transport Resource (LTR) configured as a predefined path between one of the egress ports and a destination in the Ethernet network. The method comprises mapping one or more of the services to each of the at least one LTR, shaping each of the at least one LTR to a configured rate, and transmitting data packets to the Ethernet network via the egress ports. | 07-22-2010

Ethernet service testing and verification - A method of testing a service connection within a container in an Ethernet network comprises coupling a test device to a port on a node in a path that includes the container, switching traffic of the service connection to the port, measuring selected parameters of the switched traffic in the test device, and using the measured parameters to evaluate the performance of the service connection. In one implementation, the switching uses service and container identifications, and switching the traffic to the test device is based on the service and container identifications. The test device may be capable of inserting traffic within the service connection, and the container may be a tunnel. | 06-18-2009

ILLUMINATING BEVERAGE COOLER - An illuminating beverage container cooler. The sleeve of the cooler is made of a flexible thermally insulating material, such as neoprene, and the base of the cooler is made of a rigid material with lights and necessary batteries installed within a containment compartment in said base. The lights, when turned on, result in the portion of the bottle above the insulating cylindrical sleeve sidewalls being illuminated. The illuminating cooler also functions as a flashlight when the beverage container is removed. | 05-03-2012

PATTERN-CLIP-BASED HOTSPOT DATABASE SYSTEM FOR LAYOUT VERIFICATION - One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that generates a pattern-clip-based hotspot database for performing automatic pattern-clip-based layout verification. During operation, the system receives a list of pattern clips which specify manufacturing hotspots to be avoided in a layout, wherein each pattern clip comprises a set of geometries in proximity to each other. Next, for each pattern clip, the system perturbs the pattern clip to determine a first range of variations for the constituent set of geometries wherein the perturbed pattern clip no longer causes a manufacturing hotspot. The system then extracts a set of correction guidance descriptions from the first range of variations for correcting the pattern clip. Subsequently, the system stores the pattern clip and the set of correction guidance descriptions in the pattern-clip-based hotspot database. | 10-29-2009

Acid-Degradable and Bioerodible Modified Polyhydroxylated Materials - Compositions and methods of making a modified polyhydroxylated polymer comprising a polyhydroxylated polymer having reversibly modified hydroxyl groups, whereby the hydroxyl groups are modified by an acid-catalyzed reaction between a polydroxylated polymer and a reagent such as acetals, aldehydes, vinyl ethers and ketones such that the modified polyhydroxylated polymers become insoluble in water but freely soluble in common organic solvents allowing for the facile preparation of acid-sensitive materials. Materials made from these polymers can be made to degrade in a pH-dependent manner. Both hydrophobic and hydrophilic cargoes were successfully loaded into particles made from the present polymers using single and double emulsion techniques, respectively. Due to its ease of preparation, processability, pH-sensitivity, and biocompatibility, of the present modified polyhydroxylated polymers should find use in numerous drug delivery applications. | 09-22-2011
