20080212290ROTATABLE COMPONENT SUPPORT ASSEMBLY FOR AN ELECTRONICS ENCLOSURE - An electronics component support assembly and an electronics system assembly employing the component support assembly are provided. The component support assembly includes a rotatable base support and a component connector assembly. The rotatable base support is sized to reside within an electronics enclosure and to operatively support multiple electronics components thereon. The component connector assembly is associated with the rotatable base support, and at least some electronics components of the multiple electronics components couple thereto when operatively supported by the rotatable base support. Rotation of the rotatable base support facilitates access to the multiple electronics components, and the component connector assembly allows for rotation of the rotatable base support with the multiple electronics components operatively supported on the rotatable base support.09-04-2008
20090037565ADDRESS MAPPING SCHEME FOR SAS ZONING - The present invention relates to a method for implementing an address mapping scheme within a serial attached SCSI enabled storage area network environment comprising respectively assigning a world wide name of each device comprised within a storage area network to a plurality of switch ports that are comprised within a serial attached SCSI (SAS) switch that is comprised within the storage area network, and assigning each port comprised within the SAS switch to a zone grouping. Further, the respective world wide names of each device that each world wide name will have the right to access is determined, and thereafter a SAS zone permissions table is built comprising the world wide names of each device that each world wide names has the right to access. The world wide names, the SAS switch port assignments, and the SAS zone permission tables are saved to a file or database.02-05-2009
20100030969Consistency Model for Object Management Data - A method and apparatus are provided for maintaining cache coherency of object management data in a computer system. The computer system is configured with a bit mask to represent changes in object management data. All changes in an object are reflected by setting an associated bit in the bit mask. A cache update of object management data is limited to the bit(s) set in the bit mask.02-04-2010

20090083423System and Computer Program Product for Zoning of Devices in a Storage Area Network - A system and computer program product for performing zoning of devices, such as Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) devices, for example, in a storage area network (SAN) in which all host systems of the SAN are automatically mapped to all of the storage systems are provided. Mechanisms for automatically mapping backend storage enclosures to appropriate storage system controllers on the SAN are provided. The zoning is automatically performed based on whether ports/phys are coupled to host systems, storage systems, and whether there are storage system controllers associated with the storage systems. Based on the automatic zoning, mapping of the storage devices of the storage systems to the host systems may be automatically performed via zone permission tables. By automating the zoning, users that do not necessarily have a detailed knowledge of the storage device communication protocol or SANs may configure the SAN even if it utilizes a complex and large architecture.03-26-2009

20090222733Zoning of Devices in a Storage Area Network with LUN Masking/Mapping - Host port information is pulled directly from the switch before zoning is performed and is organized by chassis as an assist for mapping and masking an entire chassis. A graphical user interface allows a user to select storage by chassis to map and to select servers by chassis to map. The user then applies that mapping such that all servers selected are mapped to all storage selected. The user may repeat this mapping for another set of storage and servers. In a mixed environment, an icon may be shown in the graphical user interface to represent the mix. When the LUN mapping/masking is done, the LUN mapping/masking may be provided to the SAN manager to perform zoning. The LUN mapping/masking defines which host ports see which storage ports.09-03-2009
20090292798APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR COMMUNICATING CONTROL MESSAGES BETWEEN A FIRST DEVICE AND A SECOND DEVICE - An apparatus and system are provided for communicating control messages between a first device and a second device. The apparatus and system include a communication module that directs control messages between a first device and a second device through an intermediate device. The intermediate device is coupled to the first device by a control path and to the second device by a data path. The apparatus and system also include a translation module and a transmission module that cooperate to translate control messages received over the control path at the intermediate device to transport data messages and transport data messages received over the data path at the second device to control messages. Transport data messages are sent over the data path to the second device and control messages from the second device are sent over the control path to the first device.11-26-2009
20100064023HOST DISCOVERY IN MULTI-BLADE SERVER CHASSIS - A method for discovering hosts on a multi-blade server chassis is provided. A switch, operational in the multi-blade server, is queried for first world-wide name (WWN) information of the hosts. The first WWN information is known to the switch. The first WWN information is saved on a redundant array of independent disks (RAID) subsystem of the multi-blade server chassis. A system location for each of the hosts is mapped to the RAID subsystem.03-11-2010
20110121791CHARGING MANAGEMENT METHOD AND SYSTEM - A charging method and system. The method includes detecting and monitoring by a computer processor, a frequency signal associated with an input voltage signal used for powering power consumption devices at a first specified location. The computer processor generates frequency level data associated with the monitoring. The computer processor receives a request to enable a charging process for charging a rechargeable power source and power source data associated with the rechargeable power source and a user. In response to the request, the computer processor enables a customized charging process associated with charging the rechargeable power source based on the frequency level data and/or the power source data.05-26-2011
