20110191215UNIVERSAL TAX ENGINE - A program controlled apparatus, system, and method for determining the transactional taxes due for each item by any taxing authority worldwide. The apparatus comprises a first database comprising a tree structure identifying all of the zones to be examined. A second database comprising all of the taxing authorities is independent from the first zone database. A third database, decoupled from the first and second databases, has data representing the relationship between the data records of the first database and the data records of the second database. Each of the databases can be updated periodically to reflect any changes in identified taxing authorities for the zones over which they may have taxing authority. Furthermore, the present invention provides for an independent, autonomous determination of jurisdiction and tax for each line item and calculates the tax based on any exceptions and exemptions.08-04-2011

20110214644Cold-Start Fuel Control System - A fuel control system for controlling the supply of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to injectors of a fuel supply system during a cold start is provided. The fuel control system includes a LPG pressure regulator and a cold-start fuel control valve for throttling fuel to the injectors when the pressure of the LPG is below a nominal set point pressure of the pressure regulator. The cold-start fuel control valve may be in parallel or series with a fuel lock-off valve. The system is configured to supply limited discrete amounts of LPG to the injectors when the pressure of the LPG is below the nominal set point pressure to allow the LPG to vaporize prior to being injected, by the injector, into an engine. Operation of the cold-start fuel control valve during non-cold starts and normal operation are also provided.09-08-2011

20100051381Fall Protection Apparatus with Controlled Descent - A fall protection apparatus is described which allows for a user to effectuate a controlled descent after a fall has been arrested. The apparatus includes a tether line secured above a protected position of the user and a cinch line which frictionally engages the tether. The cinch line is attached to the user, and when the user falls, the frictional engagement of the cinch line and the tether line increase and arrests the fall. The user then pulls on a slip line attached to the cinch line to descend. Pulling on the slip line decreases the frictional engagement of the cinch line and the tether line so the user can control their descent rate based on how hard they pull on the slip line.03-04-2010
